More flying! More grappling! More stuff blowing up! The Sky Fortress DLC will bring new challenges, new killing tools, a weaponized wingsuit, and a honking big sky-platform slathered in hostile drones. From the looks of it, the upcoming DLC package just gives folks more of what they experienced in the base game, which isn’t entirely a bad thing. No one was playing Just Cause 3 for its deep story or complicated characters.
The Sky Fortress DLC is coming in March, and is included in the Air, Land and Sea Expansion Pass. The pass owners will get the DLC a week early.
Kaboom! Within minutes of starting Just Cause 3, you’ll be blowing up stuff with Rico Rodriguez’ explosive box of toys. You get sticky bombs, grenades, and an RPG to start with, then more fun later as you complete challenges and unlock more gear. Blammo! Speaking of challenges, what’s that text scrolling on the right of the display? Oh, no. This won’t do at all. SexyPanther121 has blown up more of the island nation of Medici. GottaBMe has snapped off more headshots on government troops. Blow4Deth has collected more sports cars. Can you para-glide higher than OmniButt? Yes! Now Jackalacka has blown up more news helicopters. Just Cause 3 doesn’t have cooperative multiplayer, but what it does have are live leaderboards that push you towards more acts of destruction. As if the explosions weren’t enough carrot on a stick to make you do things, they add leaderboards!
Just Cause 3 is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
Someone at Square Enix is going to need to brush up on ultra-exclusive real estate. They’re offering an island as part of the Just Cause 3 Win an Island contest. Just pre-order the Just Cause Day 1 Edition, then rack up chaos points by blowing things up for 90 days while playing the game. The person with the highest score at the end of the contest period gets the island. According to the rules, the publisher doesn’t have an island picked out yet, they won’t guarantee that it will habitable or that you’ll be able to reach it by anything other than a private boat, and it’s only going to be worth $50,000. Checking some island real estate sites, that will get you a tiny slip of offshore rock covered in garbage, or a sandy low-tide atoll in the middle of shark-infested waters. Obviously, Square Enix is banking on the winner opting for the cash equivalent prize. Hold out for the island, lucky winner! You’ll be king of your very own paradise nation! King!
Just Cause 3 is launching on December 1st for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
Explosions! The Just Cause series always seemed like something Michael Bay would turn into a movie, and this gameplay trailer for Just Cause 3 sticks to what works. Planes blow up. Buildings explode. Trains derail while on fire. Cars crash and fly apart. Kaboom! The plot even reads like a treatment for a Bay-approved script.
The Mediterranean republic of Medici is suffering under the brutal control of General Di Ravello, a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power. Enter Rico Rodriguez, a man on a mission to destroy the General’s hold on power by any means necessary.
With extreme prejudice! And dynamite! Just Cause 3 is scheduled to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC later this year.
