Things look very different from Grand Theft Auto 5’s new view

Grand Theft Auto in first person mode. What was once the territory of crazy mods that broke Rockstar’s open-world gameplay more than they helped, will now be official. IGN reports that the new Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto V will offer an optional first person mode. Far from being a half-baked effort, Rockstar says they’ve rebuilt aspects of the game to account for the new point of view.

“There’s stuff that just doesn’t exist in third-person: the weapon recoil, the reloads, the weapon switching. All of the weapons have been up-rezzed and animated properly, so the shells come out the right way and have the right muzzle flashes. I think we created 3,000 animations on weapons alone.”

The new version of Grand Theft Auto V will launch on November 18th for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The PC version will be released on January 27th.
