Linden Lab, developers of Second Life and Patterns, has acquired Desura, the PC game delivery service best known for offering a lot of indie titles. Gamasutra posted the official announcement from Linden Lab regarding the purchase.

Our aim is to invest and support the Desura team in making it the most open and developer-friendly platform in the world.”
Linden Lab said that Desura service would continue uninterrupted for customers during the acquisition period.
