Is Bruce Geryk gay?
We've established that Bruce Geryk doesn't
like Majesty. But for each Geryk Analysis, there should also
be a Geryk Rebuttal. So Old Man Murray's Erik Wolpaw pulls Geryk
out of the back seat of the car, sticks a finger in his face, and
says, "Hey you, get your damn hands off her." Read
it here.
Brad Wardell loves bastards!
Faster than you can say "tank rush", Brad Wardell has
the solution to cheese tactics in online multiplayer gaming. Read
the latest installment of The
Airspeed Velocity of Unladen Gaming.
Wild web chase
A clever online promotion has been created for A.I., Steven Speilberg's
upcoming summer movie starring Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law. Clues
have been dropped into promotional materials for the movie that
lead to a fictional woman named Jeanine Salla, who has a personal
web page and a bio
page. These lead to this Yahoo
group which serves as a springboard for exploring a fairly elaborate
murder mystery, which is probably connected somehow with the carefully
guarded story of A.I. This
MSNBC article has further details that would probably be considered
spoilers.
You can see clearly now
Blue's News has linked
to a story on Riva
Station reporting that the latest drivers for ASUS' GoForce
cards have again enabled the option to renders walls transparent
in some first person shooters. After it was discovered, this cheat
was removed from ASUS' later drivers versions, but now it's back
in v11.01. Whether it's been intentionally or accidentally re-introduced
hasn't been confirmed.
This just reinforces for us the point that without a secure server,
dealing with people you don't know or can't trust is a built-in
limitation of online gaming. If ASUS has intentionally restored
this cheat to their latest drivers, their actions are hostile to
online gaming as a whole. With friends like these...

Bruce Geryk explains why Majesty is an awful game. By "explain",
we mean he just rants about not liking it. Read The
Geryk Analysis and look for a rebuttal later this week from
a very special guest.

We saw a re-mastered print of the anime classic, Akira, in a digital
projection theatre last night. It looked gorgeous on a full-sized
screen, but we have one question: can someone explain anime to us?
Although Akira is certainly a big brash splash of a movie, we prefer
the moody introspection of Ghost in the Shell.
