Nitronic Rush<\/a> was a 2011 DigiPen student project that turned a few heads when it was released for melding Tron-inspired neon graphics, the speed of Wipeout, and the acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil in an arcade racing game. The Nitronic Rush developers have graduated from school and three of them have teamed up to form Refract Studios to make Distance<\/a>, the spiritual successor to Nitronic Rush. Distance promises to smooth out the rough edges and add new modes, multiplayer, and level-editing tools thanks to a successful crowd-funding campaign<\/a>. Part of what set Nitronic Rush apart from other arcade racers was the amount of hazards on the road. Think about those times when a missile or turtle shell has rocketed towards you necessitating a frantic course correction in other games. Now imagine that happening all the time<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Distance will be on Steam early access starting on December 9th for PC, and Sony just confirmed<\/a> that it will be available on the PlayStation 4 in 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
