I just got a Palm as a gift. So... anyone got some games they wish to recommend? What I'm really looking far are some new versions to text based games that I loved from the 70's and 80s. Such as Camel, King/Hammurabi, Trek, Rogue, and so on.

Check out some of the big Palm software sites:
Just out of curiosity, did you get a color Palm? That's a big consideration, for games. Most of the games peopel are writing now are targeted at color devices (many have grayscale versions, but they often are not as good). Stuff I'd recommend (and have installed on my Visor right now):
Bejeweled (and just about any of the other PopCap/Astraware games)
Adaball (great Arkanoid clone)
Hoards of the Deep Realm (think Lode Runner... it's free)
Kyle's Quest (always a favorite, lots of user made content available)
Taipan (port of the Apple II sea trading game... strangely addictive, and free)
Space Trader (if you like Taipan, this is even better... and still free)

No I didn't get the color one. I got it as a gift. Taipan would be up something I'm interested in.

Try Dungeon Bane and Ancient Red. Both good Plam rpgs.

I haven't tried the Taipan palm version, but also try Dope Wars and Solar Wars. They are essentially the same thing, but updated. I play these two when I'm away from the office and have some time to kill. I was in the top 100 reported Solar Wars scores (perhaps still am, I haven't checked recently), and I've hit over 100 million in Dope Wars.

Just saw this topic come up today, and all I have to say is...
Palm games? Isn't that a personal matter?
OK, I know, that was horrible...

Vexed (Great free puzzle game)
Blocks (nice free Tetris)
I hear some guy named Sones has a "20 Best Palm Games" feature in the new issue of Handheld Computing Magazine...

Just read through the whole thread... Thought someone would have mentioned this already, but nobody has. There are Infocom interpreters for the Palm, like Frotz. So you can play all the great Infocom classics. Someone's ported Collosal Cave as well.

Man, talk about a great way to play a game during one of those boring meetings at the office. Who would know?
