According to CNN, on Friday the State Dept. issued a travel warning for Afghanistan.

Gah. How about those reporters who decided it was a good idea to cruise around the country without an armed escort? It's horrific what happened to them, but it's mindboggling that they thought that was a good idea, when people who look "just like them" are dropping bombs around.
People really lose their perspective -- it's almost like driving around though Dresden in 1945, and stating when you're stopped -- "I'm just a reporter, here to take pictures of the firebombing and death camps. Please let me go".
Again, terrible event and I admire the courage of everyone who goes over there and risks his/her life to provide us with information, but geez, that was a really unfortunate decision.
