60 Second Review of…
The Weakest Link
Tom's review: The game show that inspired this title
showcases the Darwinian interaction between smart people, dumb people,
and the bitchy redheaded schoolmarm who makes fun of them. It's
like watching someone else in class get their hand whacked with
a ruler. You can guess how well this translates into a computer
game: it doesn't. Intead of personal dynamics, you get creepy squirming
polygonal characters with canned sound bites. The end result is
a game where you slap the space bar a lot and go 'just give me a
damn trivia question already'.
Marks review: Another 60-minute wonder. My
kids played this, had a great time for an hour, and then never played
it again.
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Activision
Genre: TV game show cash cow
Requirements: You've played all the 'You Don't Know Jack' and
'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire' games, you've read through your
Trivial Pursuit cards twice, and you're so desperate for trivia
questions that you'll sit through a bad game
