Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds

Mark's Review: Hey, it’s better than Force Commander, but it didn’t hold my interest long enough for me to get too far into it. There are much better RTS games and after Episode 1, I just can’t work up any enthusiasm for anything Star Wars. This really does feel more like a mod than an original game. I think the art’s a bit screwy too, as things aren’t the proper scale. Walkers are only a bit bigger than Stormtroopers and Tie Fighters hover. Bleah. It’s like the coffee that’s been sitting in the pot all day.

Tom's Review: An AOK TC. If you're not game geek saavy enough to know what that means, then you should dig Galactic Battlegrounds. If you are saavy enough, but you're also a Star Wars baby (i.e. a male born between, say, 1960 and 1970), then you should dig Galactic Battlegrounds. But if you're a real time strategy aficionado looking for the next nifty new thing, well, stick to Kohan. LucasArts has taken Ensemble's Age of Kings engine, slathered it with a thick layer of Star Wars stuff, and tweaked just enough things under the hood to make this more than just a skin job. And damned if I can't stop playing, Star Wars baby that I am.
