Free Peggle add-on released for WoW
For those of you in the cross-section of WoW players and Peggle lovers, there is now a free Peggle add-on for WoW.
There is a Peggle-specific talent tree, the option to have everyone in the group take a Peggle shot for loot instead of /roll 100, guild and friend-list challenges, and other wacky features. It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn novel. And the 12 levels in the game are all unique to this version. For those of you who remember the Bejeweled add-on for WoW, this was made by the same guy. Once he finishes school this spring, he'll be joining PopCap full-time. |

That guy isn't going to stop until someone kills themselves during a 40-hour WoW with PopCap marathon.

Just to get it out of the way:
If WoW's that boring, why don't you just go play the real Peggle? ROFL! Alright, I think we're good. |

Man, if I can peggle while in flight, when the hell am I finally going to stop long enough to pee now?
I eagerly await the wow rendition of Druids vs. Scourge, with all the plants vs. zombies critters replaced with appropriately cute-ized versions of summoned plants and beasties and un-redeemed Azerothian undead. (Although I'm not sure where the scourge is going to come up with undead dolphins.. perhaps undead dragons would work instead?) |

Wait... someone can play WoW, develop games and graduate from school all at the same time?

Pure awesome. If I still played WoW I'd be all over that.

Here's an interesting observation:
After looking at the Lua code, it sure seems like Peggle would violate the Addon EULA that Blizzard recently posted. Specifically the code looks rather obfuscated. I understand entirely why this would be the case (and it's still in plaintext, so depending on what Blizzard really meant maybe it doesn't count for violation), but I wonder if PopCap worked something out specifically with Blizzard or if it actually violates the addon terms. Personally, I would think Blizzard would be all over having this type of stuff brought into their game and would work with companies. But if that's the case, then it also should open up some doors for the possibility of "professional" add-on mods.. (Interestingly it would seem to imply that PopCap will never be able to charge for any of these mods that they do, so they're effectively doing it because it's cool, good publicity, or both.) |

The addon has 12 levels, whereas the real game has 130+ doesn't it? What great advertising. How better to get people to try a demo of a game than get you to play it while you're already playing something else? I've seen a number of comments elsewhere where folks claim they've purchased bejeweled/peggle based off the addons.

No, nooo, nnnooooooooooooo! I was addicted to Peggle and I'm pretty committed to WoW, this will just push me over the edge. Mind you, /peggleloot sounds amusing.

And now, instead of a free peggle mod for WoW, a free WoW themed version of Peggle:
