I'm tempted...anyone have anything (good/ill?) to say in retrospect? The Qt3 thread is kinda lukewarm and then nothing (or has nothing changed since the Orc Lords release?)
I've seen boxed copies at Gamestop for $5 as well.

Excellent, always good when Amazon and Walmart get into pricing wars...

Hmm, for me it was listed at $35, but when I went to check out, there was a $10 promotional discount so it was $25. Pretty cool.

The $10 promotional discount is probably from some previous game you pre-ordered.

Also, I just noticed that a 4000 points card on Amazon is $45 right now instead of $50. Not a huge bargain, but maybe worth it for some. And the 1600 points card is $18 (woohoo, $2 off!)

It has it's own thread, but with "KARMA" infiltrating the bargains a page back, I thought I should mention that PopCap is giving 100% of all sales today, January 16, to a charity to help with disaster relief in Haiti.

And now for the bargain part: buying one game gets you a $5 discount on select other games, including newer releases like Bookworm Adventures 2, Plants vs. Zombies, and Zuma's Revenge.

Saving money on a charitable donation? Sure thing! It means you can buy more!

I'm not sure if it's of any use to anyone on this board, but this is a bargain if you were planning to donate around $100

EDIT: Just in case you don't want to add it to your cart to see what's in there, here's the list: Bejeweled Twist, Peggle Nights, Bejeweled, Bejeweled 2, AstroPop, Big Money, Bookworm, Bookworm Adventures, Chuzzle, Dynomite, Feeding Frenzy 2, Hammer Heads, Heavy Weapon, Iggle Pop, Insaniquarium, Peggle, Pizza Frenzy, Rocket Mania, Talismania, Typer Shark, and Zuma

Oh, man, I didn't realize the packs were eligible, too. I could have gotten the platinum pack, added on discounted Bookworm Adventures 2 and Zuma's Revenge, and paid almost the same price as I just did for BA2, ZR, and only four other games.

Oh, well. It's not like this was primarily about the games anyway. But that's a great deal for other folks who want to give.

For what it's worth, the Half-Price Books I was in had at least ten Warhammer Online collector's editions clocking in at 15 bucks (remaindered, so I assume that other locations would also have such a thing). It's not so much a bargain for the game, but there's some pretty cool shit in the CE, including a miniature (or two, not sure), a 128-page graphic novel, and a 220-ish page art book - and imho the game has great art. I wanted the CE back when the game first came out and I can't remember why I didn't get one then. I've now remedied this.

It isn't, though. If it's something they bought used, yes, there's no predicting it. That's why I go there. But if it's an item that they actually stock, that's named in their computer, available in significant quantity, that's generally something you can find at any Half Price Books because the parent company bought it in bulk. I'd certainly call it more widely reliable than Target clearance.

The Half Price in Fremont has Painkiller Black for $6, Simcity Societies for $6, Swat 4 for $8, and a lot of other goodies. Mercenaries 2 and Bioshock and some others were there too. If not Bioshock then some other high profile PC game.

What I liked is they had Painkiller Black for $6 and a shrinkwrapped package of Painkiller and Battle Out of Hell (i.e., exactly the same stuff as you get in Painkiller Black) for $10.

Yup. Right next to each other as well.

Also they always stick digest sized black and white American comics in the manga section.

And the paranormal romance section is MASSIVE.

GOG promo is 50% off the Tex Murphy games. Good memories of Under a Killing Moon (and possibly Pandora Directive - it's been so long I can't remember if I've played it or if I just really wanted to play it for so long that I think I did...)

Not a game, but Dell has a $25 Belkin travel surge protector for $10+tax, with free USA shipping today.

It has a pair of USB ports, so I picked one up for travel use. I'm not that concerned about surges when traveling, but having three power outlets and a pair of USB outlets too could prove handy.

that outlet is very worth it. I picked one up a little while ago and it means I can leave my cellphone brick and ipod brick at home. I still need the cables but I stash that plus spare cables in my travel bag, and I never have to worry.

There's a Hastings sale on (at GoHastings.com right now; don't know how long it's going to last.

30% off used DVDs, 20% off used Blu-ray discs, 10% off new movies, 20% off used games, and 10% off new games with coupon code HASTINGS. Shipping starts at about $3.00.

I snagged Guitar Hero Smash Hits for the 360 for something like $12.87. That's about the most I can see paying for that.

Does Hastings ridiculously overprice their junk online the same way they do in the store? I used to live in a town where they were basically the only game for a long time and they were always my last choice for a place to buy.

That said, they did just sell me an eighty dollar CD for a reasonable price - maybe they've changed?

I don't know; we don't have Hastings stores around here. Some of there stuff is ridiculously overpriced, but some of it is damn reasonable -- I also picked up used copies of The Brothers Grimm (never saw it), Tideland (hated it, never finished it, but inspired by Tom to give it another chance), and Lost in La Mancha for about $10.00 total, including shipping.
