Gilbert Goodmate.. Now on Pocket PC.

The game has gotten some good reviews:

So has anyone played this yet? With the lack of adventure gaming on the PC this might be a good alternative.

Unless they've rewritten it since its PC appearance, it's a very bland adventure game with no real standout qualities to speak of. Not really bad, don't get me wrong - it's 'okay' - just about as exciting as a plate of dry bread with a glass of water for desert. It got a fair bit of attention for being a traditional adventure game written by a small and devoted team, and that's cool, but it's in no way a standout game, and certainly not the classic that its website announces it as.

I don't know what is going on in this shot, but it looks very very wrong. If I had to guess, I'd say a giant blancmange with several arrows sticking out of it is eating or spitting out a goat, and the guy is about to slash it in two with a scimitar. Right, looks like a Sierra game, then.
