I would argue against limiting yourself to Microsoft software, as that tends to limit your solutions. But I digress:
By 100-level, do you mean a beginners book? If so, then see "Database Backed Web Sites" by Philip Greenspun, ASIN: 1562765302
I am looking for a 100 level book on how to build a data driven web site. It should focus on solutions using Microsoft Office (access, active server pages, etc). Does anyone know of a book that might fit the bill?

Thanks Roger! An entry level book is pretty much exactly what I am looking for. I agree that it would be wise to understand all the choices available, not just limit to MS.
It's not really for me, although I do have somewhat of an interest. My father-in-law was showing me something he is trying to develop now that he's retired. He is basically teaching himself how to use Access and now he wants to move his project to the web. I saw he had a half dozen books on html, active server pages, etc. I told him I would see if I could find him one book that tied it all together. He was in computers all his life, but mostly big main frames. PCs are still somewhat newfangled for him, and I want to be careful not to confuse him with a bunch of different db or open source software. I am going to pick this up and see if he might find it useful.
Are there any online resources that people would recomend checking out? I have a little home project I'm working on, and I realize that I need to start learning this stuff - but I don't have a book budget right now.
Don't need to. Electronic form is on the web for free.Originally Posted by Tim Elhajj

Awesome! Thanks Tim.*
*Really thanks Roger though...
For once I will plug my product...
www.intersystems.com
Check out Cache - it is a complete database product with an integrated built in web development tool called CSP that let's you build dynamic web pages on the fly based on the content contained in the database. The database supports natively both SQL and Object projections of the native data storage...
There is a free single user download product available that includes basic tutorials on the internal scripting language, building data containers and developing csp pages...
As it turns out, there is a new edition of the book you posted, Roger.
