Vesper defeats soonanother with goblins.
No tricks, but you're a tough opponent. I really wanted that lion rider.
Sorry to make you run through those final turns, Dave. For some crazy reason I though you would come after Grognack, through my Tower Defense Ice Maze.
Edit: It was brave of you to bring in the Summoner for the kill, very classy ;)
No worries, deF. The Ice Maze scared me! And you played about as well as you could during those turns. I kept saying to myself, "Damn him! Nice!"
AT > deF using the Cloaklike team the Jungle Elves!

Ignatz Mouse's Fallen Kingdom beats Hadrosauron's Jungle Elves. Mostly by dumb luck, but a W's a W.
Heh, thanks deF! Fixed.
Vincent, we both picked Cloaks, so I forfeited and chose a different team.
I was a guest on the Qt3 games podcast today, and it's already posted! I attempted to defend, at great length, the merits of the game. Did I mention your name? Listen and find out! And tell me if I left anything important out.
GROR NOT APPROVE OR NOT APPROVE
Ok maybe Gror approve
Just don't stand within two spaces of him. Just in case.
Haha so true. So dude, are you really gonna lose your other game in Puddles? I want to play on as your partner!
Alas, brother!
Okay, so the time for challenges is over. Who has games remaining?
I am playing Boojum and Vincent. I thought I was going to beat Boojum but Violet just whiffed on a key shot. Now I'm not so sure.
I especially need to hear from Boojum, Vincent, Derbain, and Mark L. Got any games left?
All my games are finished.
I have 2 games remaining! I am pivotal. I think we should have a special rule that whoever plays 10 or more games without winning any gets into the playoffs.
I am playing RainRaven and Boojum for this league. It's going slowly. I'm also going out of town and may not have Internet access most of tomorrow. So if my game with Boojum is critical to the playoffs, we should arrange a time to finish it.
I have 1 left vs mageical.
Yep, I gotta finish up my game with Hereafter, which I'll do today. Something seemed up with the servers last night when I had time to play, so sadly I couldn't do it then.
Dave, I know you and I started a game, but I'm gonna assume that's not for this league, right?
I have one game left vs nlanza that hasn't had any action for several days.
Vincent, tough game! I had to siege your walls to get you to come out. But that 4 range champ helped quite a bit!
Sorry if it got a little boring in the middle!
Ugh, I am SO SICK of forgetting the simplest shit. In this case, it's Boojum having a Defender next to my Summoner, who I expected to have move to safety this turn. And I could have killed the Defender another way, for very little cost, and
UGH damn this game. I love it so.
Yup, and there goes my Summoner. Fuck me sideways. That did not need to happen that way. I hate this game.
Ahh, I forgot exactly who had started that, absolutely, lets play for the league!
Oh, I wouldn't call that game boring, exactly, but I'll admit I was immensely frustrated through most of it.Originally Posted by Hereafter
I've found that we tend to be similar players in that we're both quite conservative until we find an opening with a very high degree of success, so standoffs seem common in our games. That particular game, though, I had decided I wanted to flood the board with cheap goblins and use my event cards to try and catch you off-guard. The idea was that I would rush your units, kill as many as I could using my events, then kill off any remaining goblins that would have been easy pickings for you after the round was over. Thankfully, the Jungle Elves don't have any "if you have less units, steal magic" cards, so I figured this was safer than it otherwise would have been.
My draws refused to cooperate, though. I think at one point I drew five event cards in a row, forcing me to trash a number of them, despite knowing that doing that game me not other viable strategies. Sadly, our walls were also placed in such a way that I couldn't see any reasonable angle of attack that you wouldn't have exploited. This lead to me positioning my units at the back of my map, slowly trashing cards I needed to build magic while hoping you would get brash and give me an opening (though I knew you wouldn't).
At the end, after knowing I was going to lose for quite some time, I finally just made a frustrated death charge facilitated by some frantic "end-phase" tapping. But hey, good game, sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles.
