I played this game some in the last month. It's OK, I guess, but there's just not enough to it to hold interest. Won on "impossible" without huge difficulty. Ship design is trivial given your current set of techs, and as usual in this kind of game, science and building advantages are unbalanced -- too powerful for the point cost. It's better than a lot of other games in its class, with not nearly as much stupid spreadsheet gameplay, and less in the way of "laser battery VII: 1.4% damage output gain over laser battery VI", but even so, it's just a bit too simplistic.

In those patch notes, I didn't see much in the way of AI improvements. That is where this game is really lacking. They should really dedicate an entire patch on improving the AI. I might actually play this game again if it had a decent AI.

I'm guessing that it's hard to improve on something that essentially, doesn't exist.
