    weekend gaming 02/03/2012

So here in the deep South, winter is something we read about other parts of the country enduring. It was a frigid 73 outside today! With that kind of weather, how can you not stay inside playing games I ask you?

SW:ToR, Modern Warfare 3 and some Dirt 2 I just found on the 360. That's some fun racing!

    What's on your agenda?

I'm going to try out Magic: The Gathering Tactics, then dive back into more Towns. Probably a bit of Rage, and then dedicate Sunday evening to watching my Patriots win the Superbowl.

Dungeon Seige 3 maybe some Rock Band 3 and I should give Pushmo a try on the 3DS, and I could dip my toe into the Battlefield 3 waters, but probably not.

Probably a little Skyrim tonight -- depends on how much energy I have left after my uphill interval runs. Freaking workouts have been leaving me so drained that all I can muster during the week is half an hour of Bejeweled or something along those lines.

Maybe tomorrow when I have some more energy I'll get back into BioShock 2 and FUEL!

Most likely some Skylanders with the munchkins.

The latest Tribes: Ascend patch/overhaul gave out free boosts to previous purchasers, so I'll probably find some time for it.

Also playing through Dark Souls for the first time.

Barring the unforeseen, lots of time with my newly installed GOG version of Thief: Gold. I got lucky I guess, as it runs perfectly on my Win7 64 bit machine, cinematics and everything. Best $10 I ever spent!

Victoria 2: A House Divided for the PC, but the real gem is that me and the wife just started an epic game of War of the Ring to be continued tomorrow night!

Because of the Arcanum revival here and over on the Broken Forums, I'm playing the GOG.com version tonight.

I've been playing Bayonetta like crazy, my hand hurts. Came back to it after a few months off and played through hard mode getting terrible stone statues on most chapters. Then I went through non-stop climax and did surprisingly well, getting bronze, silver, and gold on most chapters. Got all the achievements, now I'm working on getting my play time under three hours for the Bracelet of Time which is easier than I thought it would be, especially with my newly acquired pillow talk weapon. Only need to knock off 17 more minutes which shouldn't be a problem. I also need to go through hard mode again to collect the rest of the crows. Still need to play through the lost chapter as well as finishing my pure platinum run to unlock Jeanne. Oh, and I need to fight Rodin still. Such a meaty game.

King´s Bounty: the legend. In elve lands currently, learning that while my army of human archers, swordmen and knights supported by canoneers and 9 giants can win pretty much any fight, I am losing a lot of troops on the proccess so gotta rething the strategy.

This is such a great, great game.

Gears 3 DLC - Raam SP and Horde MP and some iPad Battle Arena or whatever it's called.... I need to finish off RDR and finally make it to Moria with one of my LOTRO toons...

but seeing that I have to work the weekend and have 3 little kiddies I will be lucky if I could even play with myself. Sorry for the graphic...

Playing through Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn for the first time, with a bit of Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade on the side. Tons of fun.

On Friday I grabbed Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Collection for $5 and change (at Gamefly formerly D2D), so I'm starting out there. Never played it, barely paid any attention to it, not sure how it compares to DAII. But hey, its $5.

A really awkward RPG from Japan called Final Fantasy XIII-2. For every good idea it introduces, the development team implements three completely dumb ones to counter and irritate.

That's sad. I have FF XIII-2 sitting out there waiting to be played someday. I enjoyed FF XIII and was hoping that XIII-2 would offer at least a good part of the same type of gameplay.

My weekend gaming is/was mostly Skyrim & GT5, with a tiny bit of MW3 with the girlfriend. Aside from MW3 being on its way out the door, things are pretty much the same as recent weekends.

Fallout 3. It's what I've been playing for the past week or so. I already played the vanilla game back when it was released. This time I'm trying some of the available mods, plus I'm checking out the DLC (just finished The Pitt).

I keep feeling the temptation to start a new game of Fallout 3, but my copy of Fallout: New Vegas GOTY should arrive in a couple of weeks.

So this weekend it's been Skyrim and Shogun 2.

Probably way too much Mount and Blade: Warband. I tried a few mods but eventually went back to native. The mods sounded good but just aren't fun.

Arsenal of Democracy. I had intended to get some quality dev time in, but the specter of crushing the world as Germany was too strong.

SWTOR Started a new Imperial Agent on Thursday night and am really enjoying the story. Playing Imperial is interesting, although I've taken a real dislike to anything Sith. Those fuckers are really messing up the Empire, and we'd all be better off if someone just cleaned house and got rid of all of them.

Did some more SWTOR and got to Alderaan and finally starting to get some good tanking abilities on my Assassin like a group taunt and force pull.

Logged into Rift to find out I am now rank 37 (was close to the old rank 8) and can now buy the old rank 8 weapons (now need rank 36). Will have to figure out what I can buy with my 475k favor built up.

Finished conquering Myrran on my newest attempt to get the hang of Master of Magic. Finally started an easy game so I could get the hang of it and see the mid and end game for the first time. It is finally "clicking" and I am amazed at the depth of the game.
