You know what sold me on the game? The xbox demo. I've not read a single other thing on this title before or after the demo (aside from skimming the thread.) Yes, the demo had bugs in it. Yes, 38 Studios indicated why there were bugs in it. I'm looking forward to playing the game.

(Short Aside: Okay, I did read the article on Joystiq where 38 Studios spoke out about the bugs/demo complaints. I only had one run of the demo where heads for the talking characters wouldn't load in cutscenes. I was okay with this.)

Perhaps I'll put this here. It's a new 'making of' Risen 2 video which has some combat animation stuff. I look at how much discussion the mondo generic KOAR is getting and deduce that animated hitting of monsters is where the big RPG bucks really are.

There's a Risen 2 thread. Why not put it there? It will get more hype when it releases. KOAR is coming out right now, so of course people are talking about it.

I'm looking forward to Risen 2 a bit more, but I think both games look good.

That said, in the case where there are such generous demos reviews are mostly superfluous anyways and one should simply see for oneself.

I really enjoyed the PC demo - apart from the pop-in issue. Unfortunately, the situation with the LoD has already been discussed on the official game forums and will not be fixed. Consolitis wins again. Unfortunate.

I won't lie, I rarely like these kind of RPG games in a fantasy setting (the only one I ever completed was Fable 1, I'm more of a fallout guy), but be damned if the 5 part video preview thing over on gamerfuzion gave me the itch to at least try it.

The art style and the Fable 1 feel I get from watching is a very good thing imho. No chickens to kick and no farting is a plus!
