You know what sold me on the game? The xbox demo. I've not read a single other thing on this title before or after the demo (aside from skimming the thread.) Yes, the demo had bugs in it. Yes, 38 Studios indicated why there were bugs in it. I'm looking forward to playing the game.

(Short Aside: Okay, I did read the article on Joystiq where 38 Studios spoke out about the bugs/demo complaints. I only had one run of the demo where heads for the talking characters wouldn't load in cutscenes. I was okay with this.)

There's a Risen 2 thread. Why not put it there? It will get more hype when it releases. KOAR is coming out right now, so of course people are talking about it.

I'm looking forward to Risen 2 a bit more, but I think both games look good.

Mainly because you complain about thread bumping when I do that :)

    And I was lonely.

Ha! Yeah, I do complain about it. I really wish Risen 2 would just get here already. I wanna be a pirate!

    Sorry about your loneliness....

Thanks for the suggestion of the gamepad for this game on the PC. Much better!

Sadly, still no sign of a steam pre-load.
We hope to have the Steam pre-load ready by Monday.

Maybe because some people are scared of stusser? He has board powers second only to Tom. You could disappear and no one would know.

I really enjoyed the PC demo - apart from the pop-in issue. Unfortunately, the situation with the LoD has already been discussed on the official game forums and will not be fixed. Consolitis wins again. Unfortunate.

    .
    Thats kinda scary!!

Anyways, the game is looking kinda interesting to me with all this talk now. Also the fact that the studio is headed by someone who seems to be in it for the games only is kinda a draw to me.

You are incorrect. Stusser doesn't ban people.

But in theory he could ban people. He doesn't ban them and he's probably not supposed to ban them, but he could do so.

Which makes the LoD issue a real shame about the PC port. The indoor areas were okay. Once I was outside people and objects would pop in like Star Trek crew.

Putting aside the notion that the whole paragraph was in jest, I didn't say he does/would. Only that he can/could. He has power.

But seriously, I don't know why people keep thinking that. I don't even ban spammers unless they're egregious; I've only banned one person ever, the vietnamese piano spammer.

Also, stating that EA has a razor-sharp focus on maximizing stockholder value and IGN is ethically malleable isn't a particularly controversial stance to take. It's like being against eating babies. Who's going to argue against eating babies? Well, octonoo, but I think he's banned.

Welp, I got an Amazon gift card for my B-Day, so I'm using it toward a pre-order of the PS3 version. I VERY rarely pre-order games, so I am quite excited! :-)

This sounds like a great name for a game. Bundle it with a plastic piano controller and make the dreams of dozens come true.

Just want to say that I'm blown away by the demo of this game. I honestly have a Baldur's Gate sort of vibe going on right now. Instant buy for me.

Is there a PC demo for this?

I won't lie, I rarely like these kind of RPG games in a fantasy setting (the only one I ever completed was Fable 1, I'm more of a fallout guy), but be damned if the 5 part video preview thing over on gamerfuzion gave me the itch to at least try it.

The art style and the Fable 1 feel I get from watching is a very good thing imho. No chickens to kick and no farting is a plus!

The 80+ hours of Star Trek online in the last 2 weeks has shielded me from whats going on in the gaming world!

I'll be downloading the demo for this later today. The combat looks very enjoyable to watch.

WTF BBQ , the PC version is 59.99 @ the egg.

I'd of done a blind buy at that $45 price for the PC version. Sad.

I don't understand how anyone could be hyped for this game after playing through that terrible demo.

Are shitty, outsourced demos based on old code the hip new way to market games now?

I take it this is a love-it-or-hate-it type of game.

Hey y'all, random question. Does anyone know if the buttons can be remapped in the final version?

I'm not sure but I saw a thread on the official forum of someone having created a tool to do so.

Destarius is here to stick up for the ethics and morals of IGN.

Anyone know if we'll get a Skyrim-like unlock for the Steam version? (Meaning: it unlocks at midnight-ish) or will we have to wait until noon-ish PST on Tuesday?
