There's a Gamefly client.
Yeah, they do have the cheapest prices I've seen yet (haven't tracked that carefully though) on Portal 2 ($6.79) and Fallout 3 GOTY ($9.99) but I figure what are the odds those aren't both going to be in the Steam summer sale for at least as cheap. Considering they still haven't transferred over all of my D2D games yet I'm not in a rush to give them more money.
The system requirements on Steam for Indy look weird. 32MB RAM and 155 MB HD space. I bought it when it first released and played it on a 386-40 with 4 MB RAM and a 130 MB hard drive that had a dozen other games installed on it, including Ultima 7, which was 20-something MB - easily the largest install I had encountered to that point. Does this one come with a bunch of extras or something?
I think the requirement to install Steam for downloading Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (today's deal at 50% off!) takes care of the 32MB memory minimum. Steam + ScummVM doesn't come close to the 110MB overhead in those specs though. And I don't remember any additional goodies when I bought the game from Steam. They're no GOG.com.
FarCry 3 is $32.49 for pre-order on GMG.
Thats pretty crazy.
First day of Summer, where is that Steam sale!?!
Greenman Gaming has been offering the best deals on pre-orders for a while now. I just picked up Sleeping Dogs for $31 and Hitman Absolution for $36 from them. Both those are Steamworks, however. Far Cry 3 isn't, and I don't know how confident I am about GMG's service. Very tempting, though.
Damn I should lock away my debit card right now...

My guess is the 28th.
Man, if Far Cry 3 was Steamworks I'd be on top of that preorder deal.
2011 started 6/30, 2010 started 6/24. So... sometime in the next 10 days.
6/30 makes sense, since it's payday for a lot of people.
I ended up getting Far Cry 3 on GMG. I like Steam, but I don't twenty-dollars like it. I'll rebuy it there when it's $10 if I really need it on Steam.
Use GESTU-REOFT-HANKS to make it a little under thirty bucks.
Yeah, upon reflection, I did the same thing. Thirty bucks for a preorder on something I'm sure I'll end up buying? No-brainer.
I almost balked on Far Cry 3 because I'm not sure it will be that great, but what the heck.
But what about the Ubi DRM?
Commandos 3 is free on Greenman Gaming, and those who get it also receive a 10% voucher. I assume that the game can be traded in later on, for those who already have it, or don't want it.
Every modern (Rome - Shogun 2) Total War game, minus fall of the Samurai for 25 on Gamersgate.

According to the email, it's valid only on these titles.
If you factor in the "rent discount" due to servers which will die sometimes the games are priced accordingly so they can be bought.
Seems Ubi and / or the retailers understood that they won't be able to ask for full price of any of their games on PC anymore and price accordingly.
The Steam weekend deal is all Deus Ex titles on sale for 75% off, including HR and the HR DLC. HR is $7.50 and the DLC is $3.75.
Thanks for that. I've been waiting to buy the dlc, just not for 15 bucks.
