Blades of Time - a steamworks game - is $9.99 for ltd edition and $7.50 for std edition on gamersgate today. Any good?
Reliable sources tell me that GetGamesGo is having a sale on Ubisoft sims especially the Silent Hunter series. I've been waiting for a long time to get SH4 Gold for cheap but I'm wondering whether it will register with Steam or not.
If not I'll just wait for the Steam summer sale.

Now Impulse/Gamestop has Unity of Command for $15.
Gamefly sale, including
Vampire - $5
R6: Vegas 2 - $2.50
L.A. Noire - $5 (?!?!?!??!)
Blur - $5
Dead Rising 2 - $10
Driver: SF - $7.50
And it looks like they will change the sale every 48 hours.
Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands $6 on GamersGate.
Thanks Giaddon!
Driver SF is totally worth the price.
For PS Plus, the following games are currently free. Completely awesomeness and I'm glad I just upgraded my hard drive. (Yes, I know they are only free as long as you keep subscribing).
- Virtual Fighter 5 Final Showdown
- Little Big Planet 2
- Infamous 2
- Ratchet & Clank All 4 One
- Choplifter HD
- Hard Corp: Uprising
- Kaleidoscope (mini)
- Just Cause 2
- Lara Croft & the Guardian of Light
- Saints Row 2
- Sideway New York
- WH40K: Space Marine
- Zombie Apocalypse Never Die Alone
Holy awesome value for PS+.
I deleted a ton of stuff and I still don't have room left on my 120gb for everything this month. Rachet and Clank and Infamous 2 are each 15gb, and bunch more are sizable.
I suppose it is for someone who's going to play it right now, when the auth servers are likely to stay up for a while. If it may be a few months to a year, who knows? I don't think that Ubi's made any statement as to whether they'll patch out the DRM when they take the servers down.
On PSN, Sony is moneyhatting VF5: Final Showdown. $45 for game+DLC normally, $30 for complete package with sale, PSN+ get base game free and DLC for 20% off.
This is a fully-featured fighter with excellent online netcode so well worth the money if you like 3d fighters.
Matrix Games having a sale starting tomorrow:

Steam is offering all the Far Crys for $5.
All of them.
Great deal, that.
Suddenly interested in PS+ for the first time... But then I'd need to replace my dinky 60GB hard drive too. Is an SSD worthwhile in a v1 PS3?
I threw in a 200GB drive that I had lying around (has to be a 2.5" laptop drive). Load times from anything on the hard drive are pretty quick. SSD is likely overkill.
A few things I learned about installing a new hard drive:
1) To backup your existing drive over USB, it can only write to FAT/FAT32 devices. NTFS and exFAT don't work. There are some shareware utilities to quickly format a FAT32 drive in Win 7, since it can't do it natively.
2) Once you install the new drive, the system will insist on you giving it a firmware image before it'll do anything. This is available on Sony's site and you can throw it on a USB drive.
3) Backup/restore took about 1.5 hours each direction for 40 gigs filled of an 80G drive.
I think the firmware thing depends on your model. Some versions of the hardware store part of the firmware on the hard drive, but others have it store on flash.
