Steam midweek madness is Limbo for $4 and Dungeons Gold for $11.
Any recommendations as to either?
Found this gem for $1 (I ended up paying for the $4 support-the-dev pack) through the Because We May indie game thing going on right now:

Tons of fun. Reminds me a lot of VVVVVV, Super Meat Boy, etc...You know when you die, that it is your fault.
You control your guy with the arrow keys (or WASD) and the CTRL key for a bit of a boost that recharges. You have a little bit of inertia and acceleration to deal with, but it comes down to some fine controls, puzzle determination, and trap avoidance.
Starts off easy enough, starts to ramp up the difficulty at level 10, then some more at 20. I made it to 21 in less than an hour, but then set it down because I kept dying on what looks like an easy level, but it got me.
40MB and plays great on my netbook.

Crysis 2 back on Steam is a big deal since they removed it to pimp Origin last year.
I thought Limbo was a fun little puzzle/platform game. Good visuals and some great sound design. I'm not great at these sorts of games because I get frustrated pretty quickly, and I only got stuck a couple times. Most puzzles had pretty intuitive solutions, though there were a few where I had to die a few times before I could "get" what was going on. A few of the deaths seemed kind of cheap but no big deal because reloading was instantaneous and never set you back too far. It's worth $4.

I'm afraid the joke is lost on me... I see parts of the Oblivion box, Painkillar, Diablo II expansion, etc.
Is that that game under development a couple of years ago that basically ripped off a bunch of Oblivion assets?

It apparently was a point and click game that used other games art assets, lol.
Finished, released, and ripped off plenty of games besides Oblivion. While being astonishingly incompetent and awful in every other area. There's a hilarious/painful screenshot Let's Play here:

Awesome. This sounds right up my alley. I love games like this.
Oh. Er.... nevermind then. Can't stand keyboard controls (or d-pad controls) for platformers. I used them back in the 80s on my Amstrad, but never since. You control your guy with the arrow keys (or WASD) and the CTRL key for a bit of a boost that recharges.

I enjoyed LIMBO, but be aware that it is a short game. I burned through it in about 3 hours.
I really enjoyed Limbo a lot. It definitely has a magical quality in the first 2/3rds of the game that's lost later in the game (though I did enjoy the last third of the game because I'm a fan of platformers, and I really enjoyed the challenge of the last third). Every time my niece and nephew come visit us, they always want to play Limbo, and I always forget just how gruesome and imaginative and cool the deaths are in this game. And how the game teaches you to play by killing you. And then you apply those lessons later, and the game kills you again for doing that, just to mess with you. The game really has a great sense of humor in that regard. (Though, again, only in the first 2/3rds of the game).
Pre-order Sleeping Dogs for $35 on GreenMan Gaming. Steamworks.
Origin and Steam will also knock $20 off Crysis 2 Maximum Edition if you already own the game on their platform. Since Amazon doesn't have a client they're handling it slightly differently.
Personally I'm not going to bother, though. I'm only in it for the singleplayer and the DLC doesn't appear to impact that at all.
Binary Domian for $20 from GetGamesGo. Steamworks.
It's good but it requires the use of Ubisoft's UPlay crap, which isn't exactly like the always-on DRM, but it is.
I'd advise getting Wargme: European Escalation which is by the same devs and better in almost every way with no Ubisoft bloat.
It's my favorite real time strategy game of the last five years or so.
So... yes. It's not on sale anymore, though.
Thanks.
Giaddon - Had a code. Not going to bother though.
Also, Humble Indy Bundle V
http://www.humblebundle.com/
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Psychonaughts
LIMBO
Swordbrothers: Swords & Sorcery EP
Bonus game: Bastion
Noice. Grabbed...
Free Weekend for Worms Reloaded (also now $6.80) plus Saint's Row 3 for $17 on Steam.
Dang, that's a good bundle. I'd be all over it if I didn't already own most of that.
Edit: It's worth the "beat the average" price just for the Bastion soundtrack!
Yeah. I own every one of those games, but I'll probably get the bundle just for the soundtracks.
360 Controller support as well. ;)
After playing it some more, it is really missing a save game feature. You have to start from the beginning each time. It only takes about a couple of minutes to reach level 10 and maybe 5 more to reach 20, but it is still a bit repetitive when you've played the same level over and over.
