Tuesday After Christmas
Anyone else seen this? It's a Romanian New Wave film about a married man having an affair. The story is basic, but the acting and directing are completely natural, with scenes filmed in long takes. The opening scene of the movie would make my 3x3 for best film nudity, as it captures a couple in bed, just talking. Highly recommended if you like natural-feeling movies.
(And before I go on to spoilers, what is it with Romanian movies and terrible titles? Tuesday After Christmas, 12:08 East of Bucharest... Even 4 Months, 3 Weeks, etc. is unwieldy.)
Spoilers:
My only lingering question is why the man decided to tell his wife, and why then and there.
We follow him throughout the movie, so I'm guessing he spontaneously decided to do it between scenes. It's a risky decision, given that his home life is comfortable, if unsexy, and there is no guarantee that things will work with Raluca. And they have to conceal it from the rest of the family over the holidays anyway. Of course, the following scene is the highlight of the movie (along with the dentist's office).

Hi, I listen to NPR too. Was wondering if this film was any good since the other two sounded dead boring, guess you answered my question.
