See, I would go with that, but all that "You did this I can't stop it now" talk really gives the whole thing a different feel.

So far, we've attempted to court

    - A cannibalistic fat bird
    - A stuck-up prick who's in on conspiracies
    - A bookworm ghost

I wonder what could come next....?

    Well, our remaining options are:
    A snooty racist.
The childhood friend (? if that nonsense from last night wasn't actually his route)
    The narcoleptic teacher.
    Oko-san.

Well, this is true. Clearly Library Bird was terrified of the freedom you were granting him with the Power of Your (Still Creepy) Human Girl Love, and wished there was some way to stop it. I'm ... I'm sure it worked out, though.

Angie, clearly you have to do snooty racist next, I told you so right after fat bird murdered you, what are you waiting for? I predict that he will be a serious player who nonetheless falls for you, before he gets a good strong dose of the human anti-bird-virus and dies gasping in your arms -- er, wings, whatever the fuck appendages you're supposed to have -- confessing his true love for you despite the fact that your species killed him. Because all birds must die in this game. Especially if it makes you feel totally fucked up and conflicted about it.

That's the sort of realism I like in my games.

Wait, hang on. You mean that bird was male? I was assuming they were female this whole time, since they dressed up as a maid and all. Then again, I'm expecting something in this game to make sense.

This is...real. You know, I didn't expect to read all eleven pages and then sign up to comment. Out of curiosity, font issues (though fairly legitimate) and complete bizarreness of the premise aside, it reads fairly well; who translated this?

Re: the Shadowgate death screen spoof (good hearty laugh, that was!) the last item in your inventory, 万力 (まんりき / "manriki"), well...
hxxp://google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=%E4%B8%87%E5%8A%9B (Augh, I can't make a proper link until I post fifty times!? Sadness. Fine, I'll do it Japan-style.)
I'll give you three guesses. As is usual with adventure games, this creates more questions than it answers.

Considering this game's tendency to avoid hard-hitting issues, I'd be a little surprised to see a lesbird romance path.

Avoid hard-hitting issues? Having a cannibalistic serial killer as a school doctor is a pretty hard-hitting issue.

Damn, I wondered if I should have made the sarcasm more overt. :/

But without using something that just gives it away (like a silly ASCII face), I'm not sure I could have stated that and still kept the casual read. What a conundrum.

Did it? I assume that the Hawk party can't see the ghost, so I assume that they just killed humanity again because you didn't make friends with any, you know, corporeal beings.

Look, if it didn't happen in the game by the end of the game, I am saying it didn't happen. If I start speculating on what will happen in the future of this world I might actually lose my mind.

This is my childhood friend. We just had a conversation about how how it's hard to get the day started without red meat in your belly, and now we are going to St. Pigeo's School for Talented Birds.

    Fuck yes.

Angie, I understand if your emotions are confused and you don't know if you can struggle on in the face of such horror and sadness.

You can go on. You must. For the sake of QT3 and all of humanity.

I want to see the narcoleptic teacher! There's got to be a way to turn his disability into something twisted and wrong.

    I love this thread so much. ; - ;

I've never been this involved with a dating sim before.

    Thanks for the playthroughs, Angie.

I've just registered to say how much I love this thread. I can't help coming back every two hours or so to check if there's new screenshots.

I've played some dating sims, but every time the protagonist was male. I had no idea that dating sims designed for women were so... different.

Angie, I have bird husbando feelings WHAT DO?!?!

    uhhmm...
I downloaded the english patch for Hatoful and I...

got a "good end" with Sakuya?

    He's such a cock but I didn't expect for the sim to take such a hilarious heart-warming turn and it's so cheesy that this game is giving me a feel. ;-;

(I also kept failing my exams D:)

I have to say when the background title text changed from Hatoful to Hurtful I started worrying that the game was being designed from inside the thread.

I'm not entirely sure what's going on with that. It's as if this entire game is just one big exercise to mess with our heads. AND IT'S WORKING.

I just fully caught up with this thread, and I can feel my face being red from all the quiet laughing in my office. Angie -- and everyone else, really -- thank you so much for this. One of the funniest things I've read in ages, and I really needed a good laugh today. :)

This thread is like the eternal fountain of win. I can't even begin to speculate which direction it will go next. Aliens? Tentacles? Time travel?
