If only you could buy a steak in a vending machine...oh wait.

Right in my very own state. Exact change please. Although, it is not close to me and I probably would not travel to pull my meat from a machine (ha!), I loves me some steak and would try it if they install one closer.

I can't imagine it catching on.

Bah, I thought it would actually cook the steak, like the horrible pizza vending machine that's always broken and makes pizza one notch above microwave quality anyways. But this is just raw meat.

I would wager the liability related to undercooked meat means that would be a no go. It would be even awesomerer.

Being that I would have no clue how long the meat has been in the machine I dont think I could ever bring myself to try something like that.

No machine can replace a conversation with a butcher that knows you. I wouldn't use it.

Am I missing something? At several places I've worked at, there have been very similar machines in the cafeteria selling sandwiches, pastries and so forth. The only difference here is that this one is stocked with meat rather than ready-to-go food.

Not really. Automats were phased out in the US before most Qt3 posters were born.

My grandmother used to take me to the Horn and Hardart Automat on 42nd St in Manhattan. To a kid it was like the most amazing futuristic place ever.
