Justin, your link is to Chronicle.
Yep, because all the expansions are in-app.
I'm a doof!
Purchased...afraid of change....my world was just getting comfortable and now all the fancy new cards with new rules and new mechanics. Someone hold me.
It's a WHOLE NEW WOOOOORRRRLD
Lost my first AI game 65-60
Christmas came early. I love the new apprentice and militia art. I'll actually be a little sad to banish them to the void now.
~~
P.S. I'm a little sad that we won't be able to Twofold Askara cards from SoS. God I love the Twofold Askara.
My first AI game took 45 minutes. I won, and I have no idea how.
Rat King: how cool is that?
Love the retina update. Now I can actually read the text on the cards on the board.
Unfortunately the retina update has not improved the resolution on my 3GS screen. I demand a refund!
A lot of the UI stuff is a huge improvement. Beyond the retina update, the two that leap to mind are the new card order display that you mentioned and the new highlighting of card acquisition, card culling, and construct effects.
But the improvement that I had hoped to see that's still missing is putting the FREAKING FRIEND LIST IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. The online status indicators are nice, but setting up multiple challenges still takes longer than it should because "SelfMadeSinnick" can be on the first page while "Ananab Tilps" is on the last. I don't know why they do this, and since it seems relatively easy to fix, I thought it might be part of the update.
Two other things remaining from the wish list are giving titles to matches (that would make the various leagues/tourneys easier to tell apart) and, of course, chat. Harder to do, I'm sure, but maybe we'll see one or both of them in the next update.
Alphabetizing the friend list and a chat feature are no-brainers. I guess I can't complain since they made some nice improvements, but these omissions are baffling.
Between the $1 for Chronicle, the $3 for Return of the Fallen, the $5 for Storm of Souls and the $1 for Promos I've now spent more on Ascension than I have on just about all my other iPad games put together. Totally worth every penny.
The new cards require alot more thought than the 2 previous packs. I suspect that beating the AI is going to be alot easier with this new pack once we get the hang of it (more complex=harder for AI to cope). After 2 games I already feel like I'll have a larger advantage over the AI.
More reason to play multiplayer I guess.
Has anyone else had crashing problems lately? I'd say around 1 in every 5 sessions of Ascension result in the phone doing a hard reboot mid-game - Apple logo and the works. It started doing this about a month ago, and it's just done it again post-patch. It may just be my phone of course.
No troubles like that on my iPad, but my old iPhone does that unless it is plugged in.
For some reason I'm not seeing any notifications on my iPad after the update.
Pre-update, the notifications went to my last used device (iPhone or iPad), but now it only goes to the iPhone. And when I turn off Ascension notifications on my iPhone, I still don't get any notifications on my iPad.
Anyone else experiencing this?
It's getting worse, I've got one game now where the replay causes Ascension to crash every time. Other games are working, but not that one. It seems forfeiting the game is the only solution. It's a SoS game as well - in fact, the first SoS game I've played, so it's not very encouraging. I tried rebooting the phone, same result.
I'm on a 3GS, is it possible there are increased memory requirements now with the new retina artwork (which obviously the 3GS isn't displaying) causing this lack of stability?
