I attacked Sauro with everything I had, once I couldn't find anyone to attack Tien Chi with me. I hoped to take him out along with Mark Weston, so that Mark and I could then attack Tien Chi, but McKnight (Sauro) whacked me good. And then I couldn't press the attack because dfs and pyrhic attacked me from behind.

Me and dfs had a sort of backstab-pyrhic plan brewing, but nothing came of it because I died a lot too fast.

I was REALLY fortunate that I did not have to make a decision about which of you to backstab. Pyrhic ended up being a great ally.

So, how did that work out for you? I've decided to play second banana to an obvious leader and not been really satisfied with the choice. In the end I'm not sure that it would have made any difference in the outcome of the game if you had gone anti-TC, so I'm curious if you felt better losing on the field of battle or losing when TC stomped the alliance.

...I ended up administering the killing blow after comically mismanaging things. Lanka and Neifel did all the heavy lifting.

You know....that pretty much sums up a lot of the way I ended up playing this particular game, Comic mismanagement. Wasting time sabre rattling against Mavarni when I should have been punching into TC. Not casting three red seconds or Wizards Tower to protect the ovens......Just comic in retrospect. Don't get me started on my battle scripting.

    QT3RAND

Has llamaserver gone wonky again? Hosting of the game keeps getting pushed back even though all players have submitted their turns.

    No big deal, just curious

I think it's been on the 2nd for a while now. Should host in a few hours.

So, I'm guessing another postponement. Do we need a sub for Mark?

Ya, might have to force it. I'm pretty certain it just pushed itself back another 3 hours just now....

I can't imagine someone wanting to take over his side at this point, but we can try. I'd just set him to AI. His army must be totally suffering at this point under the Burden of Time.

Yup, and it keeps doing it, now another +3h on the clock...

...and now it sent me a turn, but still shows that it's received a turn from me. Pandemonium!

Add to that, spring loin says its waiting for a file, but it won't send me one...

I'll admit, i'd feel a great deal more comfortable if Rand didn't say it had received all files and had less than 2 hours left on the clock...

I forced QT3RAND to host, and now the status seems normal - waiting for files. Let me know if anything has gone wrong with the turn. If you haven't received a new turn, just have llamaserver do a resend.

I might be up for it, if it doesn't host too quickly (i.e 48 hours)? And it sounds as if I could not mess things up much more!

That would be really cool if you would, farfrael! Current schedule is to host every 48 months, so that should be no problem.

I'm sure that with you on board, we could speed things up.

That sounds good, farfrael. Still no word from Mark W, so I'm tempted to just hand you the reins. Before you say yes though, please be aware that this is probably a permanent sub - and a relatively labor-intensive lategame position. Hosting schedule is currently 1 turn per week though, so you'll have a lot of time to tinker with it.

    Let's go then.
Could somebody please give me some basic details (who am I playing, mods, custom maps, where the game is hosted etc)? I'll get up to speed tonight (I usually do my turns in the evening UK time).

Also, who are my allies and who are we all piling on? :)

The above was posted before Scribble's reply but I am still up for it!

Allright. PM me an e-mail address and I'll get the next turn sent to you. It's a vanilla game, map is called Bering and features a relatively large amount of water. Think you can find it on llamaserver's map list, or I could dig up a link.

Well.. it'll be labor-intensive for a couple of turns, anyhow. On the bright side, then everyone will be dead!

Thanks so much, farfrael and Scribble, for setting this up!

    The nations are:

Me as R'lyeh. I own most of the oceans and a bit of land.
Nate as Bandar Log. He doesn't have a large army, but he has lots of toys that bring the pain.
dfs as Ermor. He cast Burden of Time about a dozen turns ago, so the rest of us dogpiled him. We have yet to find the bugger who cast it, though!

And now you as Mark-ignon. Mark has at least one of Ermor's forts under siege; it's been that way for a few turns now.

As far as I know, no one has binding peace agreements.

Well....The NATIONS are right, but jeez. Talk about self serving propaganda.

Tartarian Nate has been constructing awesome SC's for about 35 turns now and Dave Perkins has been summoning from the void for....what...oh, that's right all game now. They are instigators, agitators sneak thieves and have committed several crimes against fashion.

Ermor....we've just been rotting in our graves helping the flowers grow.

Our good friends Marignon have helped overthrow the latest round of fish-monkey aggression and they were just on their way out of our territory when you took over.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Thanks Scribble, my email address is the same one as for QT3rand (i.e this nickname @ googlemail.com). Sounds like an interesting situation, I got stomped vs. mark playing marignon (I was playing ermor) in my 2nd ever Dom game, let's see if I learned anything from it :)

ummmm. Was that Gandalf's scroll map? If so, that was me playing Marignon. and I ended up losing to Mark's Bandar. That monkey nation is very, very dangerous.

You're both wrong! I wasn't even in that game, but Gryff won it with the monkeys with Mark's cold 3 Abysia a close second.

Don't say "second" or else Matt will start claiming to have come in second in a bunch of games. There's only "first" in Dominions! ;)

p.s. That's a cool image a few posts back, Scribble. Did you make it yourself? Cuz it's perfect -- monkey/fish!

Farfrael should now be at the helm of Marignon. Let me know if you need more time on the turn.

    Got it, thanks.
    It's .... just peachy ! This turn I got:
    - stale
    - brigands (unrest)
    - vilains
    - Old age plagues our troops. An ungodly number now feel old.
    - a scout decided to attack an army of approximately 5 billion skeletons
    - someone is using Holy fire against me ... doubt it's Ermor, uh?

But hey, I killed 1 Ermor Wraith Lord (whooo!), send the next one ! Those flagellants rock :)

I like a challenge and will do my best to right the ship just like that nice fellow did with the Titanic. WTB lifeboat !

More seriously, hope Mark W is ok.

I figured that your turn report would read like a health update in Contagion. :(

I consider any game where I haven't been killed specifically by Scribble to be a victory for me. So I think I'm 2-4 now or something.
