Well, okay, considering the price tag I have to say I would look at the TOC first after all. I hope that doesn't hurt Dave's feelings...

The topic is just awesome though.

Goes without saying. And thanks for bringing the thread back on topic.

I wasn't able to quickly submit another, so please leave the timer off. I'd say 75% chance that I can submit within 48 hours, though!

Any of you guys fought or played Pangaea in EA? I'm playing as Niefelheim with a heavy EN bless and going up against them around turn 40/45. I've seen the hordes of Maenads being buffed with Iron Warriors, but I'm worried that he'll pull out some tricky stuff.

What would you use to defeat my small armies of big blue giants backed up with skratti in the usual kit (blood thorn/flesheater axe/ice brand, horror helm, shroud, boots of the messenger, amulet of antimagic, pendant/ring of regen)? And how would you counter?

The number one way for Pan to deal with elites, thugs and sc's are manikins. The sleep vines eat those. The cold aura is a problem so Pan will need some trick to manage that. Possibly diversity into water with the pretender for cold resistance and perhaps manikin thugs using carrion centaurs with rings of frost.

The other technique is vine attack spam. Tangle vines can devastate elites. In addition to those, swarm is quite deadly against elites.

Your best response is likely something as simple as imp spam. Or add some ranged combat in some form. If you are very concerned, I'd set up a test game with you running Neif and Pan and try things out.

Pan can also use destruction and earth meld to mess up the popsicles (neif giants). It won't work on the forged geared thugs.

    Crooked Trunk: Delays

fyi, i'll be traveling for about the next two weeks. I SHOULD have reasonable network access(weekends might be iffy), but appreciate if we can have long timers (i cant imagine you want to babysit this dfs). Next week should be the worst, and after that I'm back in civilization again (more or less), i'll send a note when I'm more stable, and maybe I'll be even able to do a normal interval..
    tx!

Crooked Trunk has been set to a 96 hours timer till pyrhic returns.

Note that this doesn't mean you have to use 96 hours for your turn.

Till Pyrhic leaves, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to maintain a 48 hour pace (or faster) C'mon folks this game is getting interesting. Let's not lose steam.

Thanks, maerlande. I'm about to pop up out of the ocean in Pan's lands. Should be interesting. He's also sent a ton of Maenads backed up with indie archers into my territory. He's also got Castle Arcanum or some other magic site that allows him to hire wizards. Wizards he's sent in with crystal shields :(. Also Pans buffing like crazy. And Obscuro for some strange reason.

And sorry for finishing you off so slowly in Crooked. ;) I like your move where your 8 dudes are besieging my castle and managing to take down the walls. Time to scrape up a few troops.

The kitchens are closed. We're plumb out of wings. You win, sir.

Want to call off the war? We can't hurt you much in your territory, but we can defend that choke fairly well.

It's a mass thing. You see, you could stack twelve monkeys on a triple beam balance and they'd just about balance one massive spider.

Also, the spiders can eat about twenty tiny monkeys before they become so full that they die from the indigestion.
