Trish Keenan of Broadcast has died

This is shocking and so sad. Trish Keenan, the lead singer of Broadcast, died of pneumonia this morning. I knew she'd been ill for a few weeks, then I turned on KEXP and they're playing all Broadcast songs and I knew right away she was gone. Terrribly sad news. I haven't missed a single release of theirs since THE NOISE MADE BY PEOPLE came out in 2000.

A wonderful talent. She'll be missed.

This sucks and makes me sad. Oddly enough I've been listening to Tender Buttons and Haha Sound over the last couple days. I'm really going to miss her, I'm a big fan.

I never got to see her live. :(

I hate you for informing me of this. I'll have to go buy all their albums again now, having lost them all bar Tender Buttons at some point. I could have sworn there was another album in the works. Perhaps not, I am somewhat easily confused.

What on earth? Pneumonia? How did that happen?

Their collaboration with Focus Group was definitely one of my favorite records of 2009. Very sad.

Think i read that she got hit by swine flu when she was in Australia last month and had been on the hospital for two weeks already.

Absolutely shocked and shaken up by this.

Haha Sound and Tender Buttons were probably two of my favorite records from the past decade.

I've been listening to various bits of various albums that I haven't listened to in a while. Damn if "Come On Let's Go" isn't a wonderful, languid pop song. In a perfect world, this woulda been a hit.

I'm not even sure where I found Tender Buttons, but I was listening to it just a few days ago thinking how great that album is, and that I should go get more of their stuff.

    Very sad news.
