There was an obvious face mask to Manning earlier today. The refs were behind the play and couldn't see it.
So is the ball carrier allowed to facemask or what? I already complained about it once in the Lions game, and then later that game the receiver, after the catch, literally reached up under the defender's facemask and shoved him by his chin. No flag. Then in the later game yet another receiver running with the ball grabs the GB defender by the facemask and shoves him, no flag.
Of is it just that the refs aren't calling shit at all? Tillman is on top of the pile throwing punches into the pile--he clearly threw two punches, and the only reason his third didn't land is that a defender grabbed his arm to stop him.
No penalty /boggle

Are the Raiders always this boring?
Great game against Philly. I never expect the Giants to win, and following that second quarter I was frustrated, but what a great win.
Kenny Britt out for the year, having torn both his ACL and MCL.
When was the last time the Bills or the Lions were 3-0, let alone at the same time?
Go KC! Go KC!
I find most of the throwback unis to be absolutely hideous, ditto a lot of the alternate jerseys that aren't technically throwbacks. I think with teams that are really iconic like the Cowboys, Packers, Bears, Steelers, etc. it's that much worse. The Jets are probably the worst offenders.
That said, I think the Panthers' best look is their alternate electric blue jerseys.
I may have just seen the single dumbest play in the history of football. It was so impossibly dumb, if I was the owner, I might fire the owner tonight just on principle.
The Chargers are leading 20-17 with under 2 minutes left. The Chiefs have no timeouts, and it's 4th and inches at the 33. The Chargers opt to go for it -- which I have no problem with -- but with the clock running, they run the play WITH 20 SECONDS ON THE PLAY CLOCK.
They don't get the first down, and they've just gifted the Chiefs with an extra 20 seconds to move into field goal range, which is just one of the all time stupidest things I've ever seen in 35 years of watching football. Why wouldn't you run the clock down under 5 or at least 10 seconds? How can you possibly be that dumb?
I've been watching the Chargers for the last few years, and it's my opinion that with the talent they have on that team, if they had a real head coach, they'd have at least made it to 1 or 2 Super Bowls in the last 6-7 years. It is no coincidence that this team looks sluggish out of the gate every year, that they constantly make awful special teams mistakes, and lose games to bad teams. They're going to win this one thanks to an INT, but I'd just fire Norv Turner and find a real coach ASAP.
Wow, a great Raider win. I listened to it on the audio pass. Can't wait to see it on Rewind.
Dare I hope we can beat NE next week??
I'd like to see that nifty fake punt return by Hester again, because damn, judging from the views they showed in the replay, I certainly couldn't see the hold that negated Knox's runback.
This is how the Norv laughs at you.
They had a real head coach right before Norv; I've still never heard a good reason for getting rid of Schotty and then hiring Norv.I've been watching the Chargers for the last few years, and it's my opinion that with the talent they have on that team, if they had a real head coach, they'd have at least made it to 1 or 2 Super Bowls in the last 6-7 years. I have no idea why the Chargers felt Norv was a good hire. He failed miserably in DC, and had plenty of time to learn how to be a head coach there. Instead, his teams continually did stupid things, and committed egregious error after error. Nice to see how that pattern hasn't changed.

My thoughts exactly. The best I could tell, there was a lot of friction between Schottenheimer and AJ Smith, and so after a 14-2 season, they fired Schott and brought in Turner, I guess so they'd have someone more obedient? I really think the Chargers would have had a much better last few years if they still had Schott or any number of other coaches instead of Turner.
Nawid, whatever you're smoking you need to pass that shit around.
No, that's not what they said. Bold is mine.

Dysfunction is highly overrated in sports teams. There have been plenty of championship teams full of guys who hatde each other, but, goddamn, they strapped it on at game time and got the job done.
Turner strikes me as one of those failing upward coaches, like Mora Jr. He was crap in DC. He was crap at Oakland. I totally view San Diego's failings under Turner as proper karma.
Wow, Roflsberger is giving it away.
So the Colts lead 13-10. The capable arm of Kerry Collins shall lead them to field goal attempts, leave the touchdowns to the defense.
I really like Tomlin, but damn it's fun to see Pittsburg suck.
Seems like Tomlin's team just has too much arrogance. They should not be losing to this team even with the turnovers. I don't think Tomlin is arrogant but they seem to want to dismiss their opposition.
I agree with you, but most NFL teams would approach this Indy team expecting an easy win. Hell, I didn't expect the Colts to grow a spine and play defense like kamikaze maniacs tonight either. Maybe they've accepted that Saint Peyton isn't going to be there this year to bail their asses out, so they better take care of their own business. Or maybe the Steelers just aren't that good, they sure looked like wusses against Baltimore.
So we may see Painter yet.
