TF2 server browser not browsing properly

For some time now TF2 server browser is showing a fraction of the number of servers it used to do. I am guessing this has something to do with ports and routers voodoo. I'm getting a little tired of L4D2 so how do I go about solving this?

Check what filters you've got enabled.

I don't look often as I usually play on POE servers or just a few others, but when I have lately, there does seem to be a drop in the numbers I see based on my filters.

I have a similar problem. When I use the server browser outside of the game it works fine, but inside the game it kills the whole network for about 30-60 seconds. I usually join off of a friend, so it hasn't been enough of a problem for me to sift through the valve forum.

Edit: and the number of servers it shows is always a fraction of the list if I refresh.

How do you access the server browser outside of the game? Is this something that's worth a Valve ticket?
