That's a joke, right?
Okay, so this may be a totally foolish question, but I bought Morrowind for the XBox. I've been having a lot of fun with it, but have been reading about the patch and the user community stuff out there. Is any of this stuff available for console users?
That's a joke, right?
Maybe when Xbox Live goes live. Right now, a big no.
Thanks for the info. I had a feeling about that. One of the reasons I bought the XBox was Desslock waxing rhapsodic over Morrowind's imminent release and the fact that it would be on the XBox. I just didn't think about the inevitable patches games like this always have.
I still like playing it on the XBox. RPGs take so long that it's nice to be reclined in a big, comfy chair instead of sitting at a computer desk while playing.
Now I just need Microsoft to get their act together, or maybe Bethesda to offer an upgrade DVD (hey, quit laughing. I'd buy one) for the XBox.
*shrug*
I wouldn't imagine it being a big no. DOA3 had an add-on disc... I'd think it would at least be possible for Morrowind.
And what an add-on disc it was! Have you seen the cowgirl outfit they made for Tina? Jebus, that'll inspire some serious poly-lust.Originally Posted by Tom Ohle

It's not a bad question at all. I asked it of Todd Howard in this interview http://www.gamespy.com/interviews/june02/howard/ (towards the end) and he says they're even planning on bringing over PC mod content to the Xbox version. The only hurdle is how to do it. Mark is right about Xbox Live being likely, but a cover mount CD is another possibility.
"Cover Mount CD?"
I'll check the article. Thanks, Bub.
Heh, I mean the CDs that come with Official Xbox Magazine, etc., that's probably the easiest way to do it. Todd said they built Morrowind Xbox to accept new content, so it's just a matter of distribution.
Groovy. I saw that in the article, as well. Guess I'll have to start following news on XBox Live service.
Didn't MS prohibit devs from actually patching Xbox games? I could see the add on content, but actual bug fixing?
I can't complain about bugs. I've probably played 40-50 hours of the game, and it's only crashed once, due to a bad disc read. It runs smoothly, with no lag, something most PC users can't say. I can tell right away that a keyboard would be a lot friendlier for me than a controller pad (my kingdom for some hotkeys!), but the controller work well enough. It might even help me in combat and spellcasting, since the movement controls are pretty precise. If Microsoft Live actually happens soon, I may end up having my cake and eating it too.
The game itself is beautiful. The water alone was worth it. The way the towns are detailed, and the terrain, are just fabulous. The big weakness seems to be the combat, and some of the spellcasting effects.
Say, does anyone know a good Morrowind tips site? I need to figure out some of this alchemy stuff. I'm always running out of healing and restore majicka potions...

Thanks for the tip. Do you just use one of each of the ingredients, or is it one of this and two of that?
