Telltale Mash-up: Penny Arcade, Sam & Max, TF2, and Strong Bad?

Telltale, you're right. I never did imagine any of those characters in the same game.

    More info September 2nd.

Exactly. I can't play poker - I've never been able too, and the thought of wasting those incredible characters on a poker game is just too dreadful.

It's obviously some kinda card game as they seem to be holding cards, poker is a good guess I'd imagine.

Maybe an adventure game set at a high-stakes poker match? Murder, intrigue, mash-ups, oh my!

If it is a poker game, everyone is going to be massively disappointed. Especially since they already made one.

Wow, that's weird. I mean, I'll buy it, that's pretty much a given. But I am really curious how this will shape up.

Looking at this interview back in the Spring:
    http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/70...-To-Games.html

Dan Connors, One thing we might do...there's a lot of talk around here about lawyering types of games and taking advantage of our tools to do that or other types of ways that you interact with players in table-based games. We did our poker thing back in the day and that was a fun and quick thing for us, so our tools are capable of producing a lot of different experiences and that's what this is about.
Could it be a cross game ip Phoenix Wright Game?

If it's a card game, it should be like this.

Oh man, this could be great. It could also be terrible, like Harvey Birdman.

Well, alright. I don't quite get it. It's not like this is going to sell better than their other games, is it? But I didn't really expect anything better.

Jeez, is it really only four characters? Why? You know, I really enjoyed those old Hoyle's games by Sierra where you could play against like every character they ever made, and there were a dozen games. If Telltale made that, it'd be awesome. This, I say again, I just don't get.

It will probably sell a million units on steam just because of the TF2 tie in.

The problem I see in the long run with these things is that it's IP from different developers / publishers in one product.
That could mean that the game will have to be pulled if one of the gets in limbo or something.

I give you an example of what I mean:
The music video "You Could Be Mine" by Guns n' Roses couldn't be included in a collection of their music videos on a DVD a while ago which came out because it contains footage from "Terminator 2".
Due to missing permissions to "use" this footage anymore the video can't be officially re-released / put on some collection.

I can imagine a similar situation for this game in case some of the "foreign" IP.

Meh. They'll have voice for Tycho, though. I wonder if Jerry Holkins is doing the voice? Have they ever done anything where they provided voice for those characters? Even the PA games didn't have voice.

The best thing about the original Hoyle game was that the characters would chatter away with one another and there were tons of in character things they'd say and special interactions between certain characters. The later Hoyle games replaced that with repeated soundbites. Fuck you, King Graham, I know that the spoils go to the victor.

Maybe Yahtzee Croshaw is open to do the voice for Tycho. Or the dude that made the voice for Mordin Solus in ME2.Tycho doing his own voice is like a Garfield withouth Garfield thing.

It is very interesting in the context of preserving games for decades to come regardless if it's "just a poker game".
