Man, tough crowd.
That fuzzyslug fellow lost to humans like 4 times this season already. I heard he's a nice guy when he's not crying like a baby as his Ravens choke away another one. I'm rooting for him. :)

Hey man, someone has to be the villain, and you are playing the Chaotic Evil team...
When in doubt, remember the chart:
![]()
I find that chart quite apt, though the Steelers one is kinda creepy. I can honestly see Ray Lewis pronouncing those lines right before doing his little chicken dance every Sunday. Man, I'll miss him when he retires.
Uh oh...does that mean time limits and everything?
I don't need to look like more of an idiot than I already do...
Pumpkin and I got our game this evening. Hold on. That sounds romantic.
Pumpkinhead and I played our football game this evening.
It was almost two separate games. In the first quarter, I started with the ball and was able to drive for a TD. Following a defensive stop and very short and lagged punt, I added another. One more defensive stop and Ray Rice added a long TD run. 21-0.
Pumpkinhead then figured out my D. For the next two quarters, his passing game started adding points, first with a TD and then two field goals. I could keep him out of the endzone but my offense went very, very quiet. I have to say Pumpkinhead is one hell of a defensive play caller, frustrating several drives with great defensive calls.
In the fourth quarter, after working the clock and punting yet again, I was able to stop Pumpkinhead on downs. Ray Rice was then able to mostly close out the game. With the game in the balance (21-13), I went for it on 4th and 2 on his 36 with about 1 minute left. Boldin hauled in his only pass for a TD.
It ended up being another good AFC North game. Now I hear that Pumkinhead is out for season 2 and Matt wants to desert the AFC North. It's going to get mighty lonely in a division that represented 1/2 the AFC playoffs this season.
And with that, we roll into the divisional playoffs!
Fuzzyslug and the 12-4 Ravens take on Cory's 13-3 Raiders!
Ike and the below-.500 Giants take on Cold Shoulder and his 12-4 Cardinals!
Erik and the 12-4 Bills take on Fropmaster J.Pinard and the 13-3 Colts!
And over in the frozen tundra, VegasRobb and his six kings take on the Packards!
Who will be victorious? Make your predictions below!
Based on seeding, I SHOULD be taking on the Vikings, but the game does indeed say the Giants. Odd.
So how many people are confirmed for season 2? If it's possible, I would really like to see everyone playing in the same conference. This would maximize real opponent games while minimizing (and hopefully equalizing so no one has an "easier" season beating up on the AI) AI games. There are two problems with this: one of which is that it means that some people will have to switch teams, but I'm sure we can maneuver things so that any old rivalries will carry over. The other is that the Super Bowl would be played against the AI, but it would be safe to say that the human representative in the SB would be the league champion since they beat everyone else and would play the game for pride. Obviously this won't work if there's more than 16 people for season two, but I think that if there are more then we should work on balancing out the conferences. It was kinda silly that we ended up with only 6 people in the NFC. I'm open to change teams to make the league work better and I'm sure there are other people willing to, we just need to determine the league size and what we want to do to get people playing each other the most.
Cold Shoulder, when are you available to play? I'm currently not working so for the time being, my schedule is pretty open.
I wonder if there's a way to realign the divisions. I would like to play more human players, but I don't like putting everyone into the same conference. I think it's limiting, and it destroys the majesty of the Superbowl. The best solution would be to recruit more players into the league. Any ideas how we can do that?
Great game Fuzzy. Your red zone defense was very stout. And my team picked a bad game to not show up for the first quarter.
I enjoyed the season very much. It seemed like I played alot of games against people instead of the AI, which makes things much more interesting.
But as I told Fuzzy during our game, I think I am done with Madden until the next version comes out. Good luck to all those in season 2. The Browns are open if anyone wants them.
Ike - We can't realign the divisions (otherwise somehow I'd take the Steelers, switch divisions with the Colts, and then run rampant over the three worst teams in the league).
But as it stands heading into Season Two, it's looking like...
I think we can assume that folks who had to temporarily drop out from the league will want their old teams if they jump back in. So Talisker shouldn't have to worry about someone nabbing his beloved Lions out from under him (as if that's a risk, ZING!).AFC:
North:
- Ravens (Fuzzyslug)
- Bengals (Matt Perkins)
- Browns
- Steelers
South:
- Titans
- Texans
- Colts (Jpinard)
- Jaguars
East:
- Bills (Erik J)
- Dolphins (Omniscia)
- Patriots - (Matt Bowyer, 1/19)
- Jets - (MightyNute, 1/19)
West:
- Broncos
- Chiefs (Seventimessix)
- Raiders (Broadway Joe)
- Chargers (BlueJackalope)
NFC:
North:
- Bears (dailin kal)
- Lions (Strummer - 1/20)
- Packers (Talisker - 1/20)
- Vikings (VegasRobb)
South:
- Falcons
- Panthers
- Saints
- Buccaneers
East:
- Cowboys
- Giants (IkeVandergraaf)
- Eagles
- Redskins (Ashileedo, 1/19)
West:
- Rams (TyandTwenty)
- Cardinals (Cold Shoulder)
- 49ers
- Seahawks
If folks are thinking about switching teams, now would probably be the time to toss out ideas.
Therefore, I am officially leaving behind the Tennessee Titans and taking the New York Jets for Season 2.

I would like to take the Patriots. I almost took them in Madden 10 when switching off of the Redskins.
I'd welcome your jump to the Jets, because I'd like to maintain control over the lowly Bills.
JP, when are you available to play our game?
I would switch to the Jets next season. I would prefer to keep a mix of AFC and NFC though. Let's try to recruit some more people into the league. I'll see who is on my friends list that has the game and send them a message.
I personally would prefer keeping the Quarter To Three Madden league to Quarter To Three members. That's a rule Talisker put in place and one that is directly responsible for my enjoyment of the last two years of Madden.
I'll come back in as the Packers, unless shmtur is coming back also, in which case I call dibs on the Steelers.
I've debased myself with the Lions long enough :)
Agreed, but it would be tough to recruit more Qt3 members as the ones who read this thread are probably already in the league. Unless we start another thread, which seems a little... thread-spammy.
Commish can check and see who originally signed up, who has dropped out, and PM them to see if they want back in. Same for the Madden 10 league members. We're getting a few, like Perkins and I, and I can also remember strummer, acheng, and Mysterio from the 10 league that might be able to hop in. I'd rather do that than bring in non-QT3ers.
We can offer them a one-touchdown lead in all games against the Colts.
Just wanted to put my vote in for including only QT3 people. I like that we can discuss our games here and I'd really prefer not having someone's 12 year old brother both beat me soundly and teach me new curse words.
Everyone here has been a great sport. I've enjoyed chatting with folks and getting to know some of the football fans of QT3. I can play random folks if I want to play complete strangers.
I'm also against pushing everyone to the same division/conference. I play the Ravens because I'm a big fan of them. I'd hate to change, especially to start season 2. I'm sure a lot of us are looking forward to tweaking our team and seeing how they progress during the off-season. For example, Derrick Mason is likely to retire, meaning I need to deal with that, just like the real Ravens may have to do. That's a big hook for me to stick around for season 2.
I really wish there was a way to play with less teams (wouldn't it be cool if we could set up our own divisions that reflect our real geography?) but, until there is, I'm fine with the current system.
What kind of control do we get when the season rolls over? For instance, in franchise mode locally, I get a lot of options and to get free agents and the draft and so on. Do we get any of those features in the online league?
As for my team next year... I'm a big bucs fan, but I'm definitely more interested in playing the team that ended the season rather than the one that started the season, so unless there stats go up on season roll over, I'm probably going to stick with the Bengals. I need a QB that doesn't suck to have a chance. If the AFC North empties out down to fuzzy and I might switch, but mainly I want to play in a division with people (which is why I'm hoping the NFC South will draw peoples!).
I'm also going to hire someone to play him for me to give me a better chance. That's perfectly legal, right?
I wish there was a way to refresh the player ratings without having to start a fresh new season. Josh Freeman of now is better than Josh Freeman of season start by a long shot. ;)
hey i'm up for season 2. Redskins pls! thanks!
