Yeah. Friday or Saturday is fine with me.
Sorry, I'm swamped this week, haven't been QT3ing a whole lot. The drop-n-swap is fine by me -- the only reason I can figure for putting in the mandatory delay until the end of the week is to avoid shenanigans where people trade players back and forth repeatedly during the week.
jpinard -- I'm opening the league back up for joiners, and PMing you the new password.
If anyone else needs the join-up password, shoot me a PM (as we're mid-season, I'd rather avoid people just jumping in unannounced -- while anyone who wants to is welcome to join up, we just want to hear about you before you snag a team :)
Hey Ty, I can see you are on, but I've tried inviting you to a game and a party. Im going to watch the Oregon game for awhile (seriously Oregon? Everyone is watching you and you crack out those henious Unis?) back on later tonight.
I just noticed you wrote EST - I'm PST - The west is the best - sorry if there was a mix-up.
Cowboys and the Vikings played on Thursday. The Vikings prevailed 42-13 thanks to some very timely fumble recoveries and interceptions. The Cowboys had just traded for Chad Pennington and there were some adjustment issues. Two Viking interior linemen picked up Pennington fumbles and ran them back for TDs.
Joe Webb made his NFL debut and completed his first NFL pass before getting shutdown and spending the rest of the game handing off to Toby Gearhart and Dan Frisch (Go Army!). Toby G. football is pretty straight forward, no pun intended.
Favre survived the game despite taking a few hits that would make Jenn Sturger smile.
So how is lag these days? I played a game of Madden 11 online the other day and not only did it finish, it was a pretty good connection over all.
Anyone else have problems before and seen improvements?
A family emergency came up that kept me from coming online :(
I'll hop out so you can play the CPU if you find time before Sunday morning.
a million apologies. I was online, ready to go. Then a bomb fell in my lap and i totally forgot the whole thing. I'm going to be on tonight again. It will most likely be between 4pm PST and 8pm PST. But if you want to leave me a message with a day and time that is better, I'm all ears.
I hope your lap is okay.
Since y'all seem to play Madden 11 regularly, I am curious if the comeback AI you've discussed is something you can turn on and off or if it's built into the game. I've got NCAA 11 and am considering getting Madden, but rubberbanding annoys the crap out of me and I don't want to buy the game if it's hardcoded.
I see it sometimes, but not always. I've been playing a franchise as the Seahawks, so getting a touchdown lead and trying to hold it is big business. I had Arizona come back on me... I also held the Bears and Broncos in check, even when they tried to make second half come backs.
There is, and has been for a few generations of the game, momentum. I'm not sure how they set it up, but for instance, if you can get a few good running plays together, you'll notice they all get easier from there (your guys breaks tackles more often, etc). Same with passing. The same applies to their offense.
To boot, look at the NFL and all of the close games we get these days.
Any given Sunday. It's what makes the game great.
Pennington experiment over. Who's got a better option and willing to trade with me? LOL
I've learned some things playing with the Seahawks...never throw a long bomb. Hasselbeck can't hit it EVER.
I hate to see if I was playing with someone who wasn't rated in the low 80's at the very least.
Unfortunately (for you), I've gotten roped into using someone's spare ticket for tonight's UVM hockey game. They're only playing Merrimack, but still, it's D1 action.
So, I'll check in when I'm back.
Aaaaaaaaand, once again, we can't get the game in. Constant "Connection to Peer Was Lost" crashes, despite clearing our caches and futzing with router settings and whatnot.
As a test, Shmtur and I did get through two complete head-to-head co-op matches, with no problems. So what is it about the online league play that's so buggy?
hey guys, my advice is definitely late to the table here....and probably useless anyway. But I had a similar problem and tried all the tricks listed. I too was able to connect to random parties for matchups, but could not do the online league. It came down to disabling my antivirus (PC security suite). As simple as that. For whatever reason the suite was blocking any p2p connections, and perhaps one of you is dealing with a similar thing. If you continue having these problems, I recommend trying it with your suites disabled - or your PC off.
... and we're on to Week 7. Without anyone having to nag the commish, even! :)
Thanks for the tip, but my PC was off. Laptop was on briefly but not during the trouble. Can't speak for Shmtur, though.
I had successfully completed every other game this season, as did he.
At least the computer gave us our first win of the season. Both of our teams apparently suck on third down, though, as Miami was 3/11 and Green Bay was 2/10.
