A test to determine the real Katie/Autumn Reeser on On Ordinary Family one episode. Katie was a geek.

What a shitty test. Because there was more than one. There was Mary McDonald. And then there was Baltar. And then there were people after Baltar that I can't remember so good because I blocked out basically the entire third season of the show in my mind in self-defense.

Sokka is much darker-skinned than that. You can even see Korra with typical Water Tribe colouring in the pic!

Just kidding, can't people have a discussion where they disagree on the internet without it being a fight? Sheesh. Anyway Hugin is right, I was watching it in motion and didn't notice the jaw, definitely not Sokka despite pushing my Sokka button with the voice and the slapstick expression and motion. I do think they wimped out on the statue in order to make it recognizably Aang, though.

It looks like Korra is already a master of everything but Air. I bet she was Earthbender originally, being all tough and forceful, so Air will be the element she'll have the most trouble mastering.

I'm just sad it's only one season though. But still so awesome!

Ethnically/sociologically speaking she clearly started life as a waterbender. And we don't see her earthbending in the trailer so far as I noticed. My sense is that she knows waterbending and firebending and has come to the city to learn airbending from Tenzin.

The cycle goes air, water, earth, fire, repeat I believe. I recall it being established in the show. So she would have started as a water bender.

The first episode leaked out. It's great.

Interesting that Korra is pretty much already a badass and could probably win in a straight up fight with almost anyone -- but for the problems she's going to be facing that's almost a liability.

I couldn't help myself, and although the quality is kinda crummy (and I'll look forward to the real release, which I'll watch again, and again, and again...), the story is already fantastic.

There's also a bridge book series being written by Gene Yang (American Born Chinese, which won a bunch of awards, but I feel uncomfortable saying whether it's good or not because I'm not, you know, that ethnicity, and Gordon Yamamoto and the King of the Geeks, which was pretty damn incredible and I will admit without shame made me more than a little verklempt at at least one point) and published by Dark Horse that's basically the fourth season of the show, for those who are interested.

Alas, the link only seems to take me to the Facebook site :(

EDIT: I might just be dumb.

Oooor, they might want to write with a bit larger type that nothing will be available for non-US viewers, what with the internet and Facebook being an international medium. Just saying.

Okay, after seeing those first two episodes, count me completely sucked into the new series. Absolutely love the opportunities created by moving the timeline forward to the point they did.

Why on Earth would they only make one season of this? Every bit as compelling as the original, surely there's a bucket of money to be made.

Apparently the series is two seasons long, at least 26 episodes.

Which is probably not enough, considering how awesome the first episodes / universe is.
