    chrome user data question

    I'm helping a friend recover a virus ridden laptop and I'm really struggling to restore chrome bookmarks/settings from a backup.

    When he brought me the laptop it was so screwed up windows wouldn't boot. To fix it I booted off of an ubuntu cd, made a backup of his user directory (c:\users\hisname) and then reinstalled windows. That all went fine and I've restored his email and documents from the backups. What I can't figure out is where in that backup I can find his chrome data and what's the best way to restore it. Any chrome-savvy QT3ers have suggestions?

    What version of Windows? On 7, the user data is in %APPDATA%/Local/Google/Chrome

    Also, as a preventative measure, have him look into Chrome sync.
