Vampire: Bloodlines - which is the best fan patch

I see on patches scrolls there are two different 7.0 patches, one by wesp5 and one by voerman.

Which is the better, and what are the differences?

Also, is there a patch that is needed to run on Win7 64bit?

I played with wesp5's patch on win7 64bit with no issues. Can't really comment on the second, but I think I remember hearing that wesp5's is better.

I've never even heard of any "voerman" patch.

The Wesp patch is the only one to use.

I can recommend the Wesp5 "bug fix only" patch. I have not tried, and therefore cannot recommend, the "gameplay enhancement" patch that Wesp also put out. Also, I am unfamiliar with the Voerman patch.

Wesp's is the one to go for. I think he's split it into a bug-fix only patch, and the full patch. The full patch adds in a lot of stuff, rebalances abilities and restores some cut content.

I think the bug-fix only patch also restores content, but it's intended as a sort of purist patch, as he was drifting deep into mod territory. There are a lot of interesting mods out there for this game now, too. One that allows you to have a companion, one that adds in a clan quest for each clan, one that tries to turn the game into an almost open world game (its main change is to make blood run out over time - you lose a blood point every 5 mins or so). I think it also wanted to open up more of the world to the player earlier as well, but I'm not sure if they ever managed that or not.

Awesome, awesome game. One of my personal top 5. It doesn't actually need anything beyond the official 1.2 patch, but the fan patches are nice to have. By no means required, though.

Oooo a companion. I always wanted my ghoul to follow me around in her undies.

My second CD is apparently unreadable. My only option now is to buy it through Steam or Direct2Drive.

Do both of these allow for the 7.0 fan patch to be applied?

Many people would disagree with you on this. Even the 1.2 patch left an enormous number of typos and scripting errors in the game, and the infamous Society of Leopold crash bug.

I used the Wesp patch on the Steam version with no problem.
