You have to love American culture where it is ok to kill people en mass in the most sadistic ways possible but god help you if you yell "GANGBANG!" or "I'll rip your head off and shit down your neck!"
But but but sex is SCARY!!!
If Dave's right, then this becomes a potential buy though.
Meanwhile the impressions piece at RPS achieves the near impossible for some of making this sound really quite good.
They should have a text-based equivalent of Serious Sam's hippie blood mode (where it spewed flowers instead of cartoon red). So you'd get lots of RESPECTFULLY DISAGREE and YOUR MOTHER IS A CLASSY LADY and TERRIBLY SORRY OLD CHAP and PARDON ME in place of the various upsetting things.
Your face, your ass, what's the difference?
I'd pay a few bucks for that.
I suspect this will be a really good game.
I concur, what what? I too would jump aboard the bally bandwagon of loquacious prolixity, in the service of evading gratuitous obscenities. "We took arms against a sea of profanity, and by opposing, ended it."
Seriously, the balls talk is the least appealing part of Bulletstorm to me, and if you replaced it all with unbelievably prudish euphemism, the joy would be asymptotic.
In defense of Bulletstorm Scott Stienberg wrote:
I think Drastics idea does all that better."Yes, it's shameless, but also knowingly so," he continued, "because it actively aims to parody much of both the gaming field and larger cultural zeitgeist's more asinine elements.
Please do this Epic. I already like the color and art design of your game, this would make it even better.
I would love it if a game did that hahaha.
Give Drastic mention in the credits and make this happen. I didn't crack a smile at dick-tits, but I literally laughed out loud at Drastic's post. My wife asked me what the hell was so funny and I just couldn't explain it since she hadn't seen the demo.
Hippie blood in Serious Sam is still the best thing ever. The fact that they removed it in later releases (I think it was 2 that lacked it?) showed their lack of clue about what made them so awesome to begin with.
Anyone know how the co-op works as far as connecting players? Please tell me it's anything but Gamespy.
I wouldn't normally be worried, but after Borderlands I'm praying not to be forced into using that again.
The PC game is a GFWL title. I'm not sure what the PS3 is using.
Ugh, I hope the save games don't rely on GFWL then. I just had a drive kick the bucket and my saves for two games are now dust in the wind I assume since that is what happened last time I formatted.
Oh, God. GAF must be going nuts.
Edit: Steam preorder is up: http://store.steampowered.com/app/99810/
I'll be getting this on the 360 anyway.

I'm a little disappointed at the $59.99 price point. I was excited for this and was considering picking it up on release but that seems kind of expensive for what looks like a modern day Serious Sam.
My real issue is PS3 vs 360 version. Having played the demo on both platforms, 360 strikes me as "what the heck" territory.
