The ball's arc does look a bit funny and fast moving things are hard to judge, so yeah, that's probably it. Easy to do too.

Yes. Yes, it did.
I recently netflixed Ghostbusters to watch with my kids. A few funny/campy moments aside, it was pretty bad too -- not nearly as funny as I remembered.
I didn't even mention to them there was a sequel. ;-)
How did they like it?
I think Ghostbusters still holds up exceptionally well. It's noticeably '80s in several places, but the effects still work aside from the terror dogs and Murray is still great even now. Also interesting to see the Lovecraftian ideas present in it that I had no concept of watching it as a kid.
At any rate:

Holds up.
They thought it was funny in places, but quickly forgot it. Clearly not one of their favorites.
I think I enjoyed it more than they did actually, and that's mostly nostalgia. I've had much better luck with other classics from days of yore. Animal House most recently, even though I'm sure half of it went over their head. :-)
I don't follow any sports, but hats off to this guy:

It's fake. A viral thing for Gillette, I believe.
This guy is doing the old Coke + Mentos trick. Wait for it...

The bottom one is Big Trouble in Little China.
Oh, my God, that dog knows the secret of teleportation!
