So, there's this podcast I listen to, well, used to.
Problem is, one of the people on the podcast has apparently had some dental work done at some point.
When this individual talks, there is a kind of slurping noise.
At first, it wasn't that bad.
However, in subsequent weeks it got worse and worse and I pretty much made it through at first run, 5, maybe 10 minutes of the last podcast I listened to before I shut it off.
Tried again later and got to maybe 40 minutes in, and had to stop.
Tech question part.
Is there some sort of program that would remove the slurping noise from said podcast?
Right click on MP3 for podcast. Select "Delete".
Not in an automated fashion.
Hey, John...
*SHLURRRRRRP*
I suspect someone is getting fellated and didn't think the microphone would pick it up.
Well, I did get a serious answer, so I guess this wasn't a waste of my time.
FYI the podcast in question is the PC Gamer podcast.
The slurp-fender in question is Evan Lahti.
The podcast that eventually became unfinishable is #205, it actually started 2 or maybe 3 podcasts before that.
Haven't listened to any of the podcasts since that one (#205).
In theory, some selective EQ could do away with it (i.e. if the slurping sound is at frequencies that the regular talking don't hit, you could run the whole thing through a filter that would cut those frequencies).
email the guy or start a thread on their boards. for fun, setup a tweet/facebook "no more lahti slurps" group.
at the least you'll get a chance at a mention on their podcast.
You mean their shlurpcast.
