It's moments like this that I'm glad the Newcastle Ale 5 liter DraughtKeg exists.
Okay, what the hell is going on in the Big 12 south division? Oklahoma State is atop the division standings and Texas is at the bottom? Oklahoma is losing games to the likes of Texas A&M?
It's moments like this that I'm glad the Newcastle Ale 5 liter DraughtKeg exists.
Against Texas, UCLA and K-State combined for 35 yards passing and two wins.
KSU receivers, 0 receptions
KSU backs, 2 receptions
KSU d backs, 5 receptions
LOL... Their D caught more than twice as many balls as their O. :)
I posted this to another board:
Basically, UT's offense has done statistically average against what their opponents typically allowed in 5 games, and below it in 4. This doesn't account for defensive and special teams scores, for garbage-time points (i.e., most of the points scored vs. Baylor and ALL points scored against KSU). It also doesn't show you the points set up by offensive turnovers; lacking those, this is actually a relatively rosy picture.Code:RANK TEAM PTS/GM vs. UT 108 Rice 35.4 34 97 Wyoming 32.0 34 99 Texas Tech 32.6 24 92 UCLA 30.4 12 31 Oklahoma 20.0 20 15 Nebraska 17.8 20 86 Iowa State 29.7 21 53 Baylor 23.1 22 67 Kansas State 25.6 14
We're just plain bad this year, and people are calling for Mack Brown's head.
How 'bout them LSU Tigers!!!!!!
Yeah, I was loving that game. And apart from a few minor miscues from Miles, he even managed the clock well! Yay!
Note: I am not an LSU fan. I like Vandy and Auburn (grew up an Auburn fan, and went to Vandy). Both of these allow me to dislike Bama, and for some reason I just like LSU. I like the way they play defense.
I have a regular breakfast joint I go to in the neighborhood. A couple of weeks ago, the morning after Bama lost to South Carolina,I pulled up at the same time as a guy in a truck just like mine, except his was crimson red, while mine is dark blue. I jokingly said as we got out, "I like your truck." He said, "Yeah, but I'm not sure I still like this plate on the front." It was a "Roll Tide" plate I hadn't noticed (I'm not sure he'd seen my Auburn one). "We need to fire Saban," he continued. "Aw, come on," I said. "It's just one game. Besides - South Carolina's tough. Auburn just barely beat 'em."
Heh. Now I can add LSU to that list.
On another note, I was sorry to see Vandy get so abused yesterday. Sadly, Vandy will never be an SEC powerhouse because of its pesky and disabling emphasis on academics. :)
I think I read one time that Robert walked on as a 3rd string punter.
Christ this cracks me up.

It does seem to explain a lot.
*sigh* Oh Utah.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5783051
When the initial report about the agent trying to extort money from schools came out, I assumed it was just some greedy 3rd party scamming, and I was willing to give Newton a pass on it, pending further info.
This new story, which appears a lot more solid, moves him strongly toward the "lowlife scumbag" category in my book. Again, pending further info.
Dan Hawkins was shown the door at CU yesterday.
It's hard to know at this point whether Newton is a chronic low-life or a kid who made mistakes when he was a freshman at Florida and is now on the straight and narrow. For the sake of Auburn's reputation (I don't care that much about Cam's), I hope the latter is the case.
*cough cough* *gag* *hack*... Auburn's reputation?
Please remind me... what was it that Charles Barkley said about cheating in college sports? And do remind me where he played college ball again?
What else do we know about Auburn?
(Or is this me being a humorless creepy straight guy and missing your sarcasm?)
Right now I am "Dude having difficulty swallowing the idea that Auburn has a reputation worth defending regarding fairness in sports." As would be, I assume, anyone familiar with Auburn athletics' history.
I don't have anything against Auburn; when Texas steals defensive coordinators away from other schools, they only steal from the best.
So other than the trouble they had back in 1991-92, what's your evidence that Auburn's an exceptionally dirty program? Or are you just trolling me?
You have to consider his argument using the control logic for the Rimbobot (TM). The algorithm goes something like this:
1. Is the team Texas? If yes, team is perfectly coached and loaded with talent. If no, team has some sort of fatal flaw, proceed to step 2 to determine flaw.
2. Does the team have a great record right now? If no, team is obviously crap. If yes, proceed to step 3 to find the flaw.
3. Is the team currently under NCAA sanctions? If yes, team is obviously shady. If no, proceed to step 4 to find the flaw.
4. Is the team from an automatic qualifier BCS conference? If no, team is obviously a rinky dink little leaguer who doesn't play anyone good. If yes, proceed to step 5 to find the flaw.
5. Team has a bad reputation.
But mostly, yeah, I'm trolling. :)
No, you are now pretending that you were trolling. You were being an ass, then got shamed by Tortilla, and decided to play the "I was only kidding!" card.
I don't want to get into a pillow fight with you again in this thread, but I think you were out of line in your post to jerri. She made a comment that she hoped Cam's problems don't hurt Auburn's reputation and you went back to Sir Charles and 1991 for no apparent reason. You then brought up something from another thread that happened between the two of you just to be sure she knew you were still pissed about being called out for that moment of idiocy on your part.
Newton appears to be a living nightmare right now for Auburn, but you didn't address that, you went for cheap shots that have nothing to do with the topic.
(Also, I don't like Auburn, despite the fact my in-laws are Auburn grads.)
You still think wrestling is real, don't you?
Let's start with points where you are right:I don't want to get into a pillow fight with you again in this thread, but I think you were out of line in your post to jerri.
You think I was out of line.
Now, for facts that you have in error:
The whole "humorless lesbian" has been a running gag in multiple threads in multiple boards of QT3 long before I brought it up. Hey, it's even made it beyond QT3. Does this mean that if I make a Star Wars reference, that I'm "dragging stuff in from somewhere else," Grand Moff Robsam?
Auburn getting in trouble with the NCAA is not exactly ancient history. Unless in robsam-land, 2009 is too long ago to be relevant.
Of course, the fact that I'm right doesn't mean I'm not trolling.
Damn. The humorless lesbian thing is a known joke, but your creepy ass comment to her in another thread about observing her...you know what, I'm going to let it go. You fucked up again, only this time you tried to disguise it. I'm sure many people here will remember what I am referring to. You apologized for it for hours. You are a strange, strange, person.
Oh great, a personal argument; I'm sure this will be relevant and intereszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzz
Please energize the thread with more of your amazing (inside!) information on what is really going on in college football. I can't wait.
Right now, the only person bringing anything in from any other thread is you.
And I'm certainly not the only person who thinks Auburn's reputation is less than stellar...
Fanhouse: Auburn 8th dirtiest program of all time (2007)
CBS SportsLine: Auburn 2nd dirtiest program of all time (2007)
DawgSports goes into way, way, way too much detail into why Auburn deserves the death penalty (2006)
Note that all of the above were written well after 1991, and before both Big Cat Weekend and Cam Newton.
