Boise 4-1 vs ap top ten since 2000. Not bad. I decided I'll hope for them to win the national title this year and then never win a game again after they leave the WAC.

I rarely watch college football, but damn that was a fine week 1 game. About as much tension as you could hope for in an opener.
I am still in the "weak regular season schedule" camp, but those guys are good. Great game.
@jerri: I am not hoping for miracles, but watching the offense, and Cam especially, should be fun this year. Suffering through watching the secondary may or may not trump the offense's entertainment value, though.
I bet VT wants that first quarter back.
It's a shame that BSU won't play anyone who can make their awful secondary pay. They do a great job of covering them by blitzing like crazy. But if you try that on a team with a decent OL and a good deep ball, you're toast.
SEC match up tonight!!! Seems really early for a conference game...damn SEC TV deal.
Auburn vs. Miss. State
Whoop!
Auburn and Miss State are trying to apologize to America with tonights game. As most of you have probably blocked it from your memory, I'll remind you that these teams set college football back 60 years when they last played on this field two years ago. The final score was 3-2. Yes, 3-2. I think Auburn won, but I'm not sure. Tonights game has been very exciting, lots of big plays, and the score is 17-14 Auburn as the fourth quarter starts. Go Bulldogs!
Well, I had it successfully blocked until NOW!
Myself along with most of the state of Iowa have our eyes on our Iowa Hawkeyes, rarely ranked in the top 10, winning the Orange Bowl last year, they have most of their team back this year.
Commence mass state-wide praying.
Seriously, this game is getting intense! 17-14 Auburn, State driving with seconds left...
Holy crap, Tigers. Way to give me a(nother) heart attack.
uhhh...the worst two minute drill in history gives Auburn the win.
They still owe America, but these teams at least gave us something back.
The second half was godawful, and we didn't get to see Cam Newton chuck it 85 yards.
Still addicted. This Saturday will be a challenge: so many other things I want to do!
Who'da thunk that the offense would wilt in the 2nd half and the defense would come through...not me.
Whew. I am with jerri and will take it!
A co-worker who is a State grad, decided to go at the last minute with friends that are Auburn fans. He left at 2pm today and will be back at work in the a.m. Luckily, none of the Auburn fans at the firm are assholes and he takes a loss well...from practice. ;)
Oh totally, especially the first half. The creativity looked like Florida for most of 2008 when Mullen was still the OC.
The Gators offense is just boring now, and not even because of the fumbled snaps. At least I still have the Georgia Tech offense to enjoy until UF figures it out.

I am a Texas alum but I found that to be pretty funny.
That actually seems more accurate. Their QB couldn't hit a receiver and when they did hit them in the hands, the receivers dropped it. I'f like to say it was defensive pressure....if it was true.
The offenses are easily what give fans of SEC schools the most gray hairs. Turnovers, missed opportunities, penalties, etc. Right when the heartburn settles, they trip over themselves again.
That was brilliant. You could substitute "Alabama" for "Texas" and it works just as well.
Or Ohio State.
"Plus I have visited Austin many times!" Hahahahahaha :)
Some great lines in there (and what they say about Tech women is true), but people who think Mack Brown can't coach don't know shit about football.
I'm not saying Mack Brown can't coach, but there is something to the criticism. Especially given the claim that Texas produces the best football players and UT does generally get all the best of them, plus many of the top national recruits. From that standpoint, and given that the Big 12 isn't usually considered at the same level as the SEC, you would think they'd have had more success. Kind of like the Yankees before Joe Torre got there.
I had quite a bit typed up about the recruiting, and I can certainly address all these points (like how we haven't until the past couple of years recruited even remotely as well as what you suggest here), but honestly what it comes down to is this: I remember what things were like under Akers, McWilliams and Mackovic. I remember how much UT sucked then. We lost to Rice for God's sake, back in 1994. People who say Mack does less with more forget about e.g. 1998, when he managed to create a killer defense out of almost nothing. (He had two phenomenal players on the DL and one also-ran NFL player in the secondary, and then a bunch of starting LB's that you and I could outrun.)
But more than that, if you look at his record against top teams, against teams with equal or greater talent, he's winning those games more often than not. (Especially now that Mike Stoops left for Arizona.)
He can beat your'n with his'n and his'n with your'n.
Rentals of We Are Marshall just went up by 100%.

And....Marshall gives up a td with 12 seconds left and leads 21-19 with the conversion pending.
Fuck me, I knew better than to post earlier. 21-21, OT coming up.
That's probably the truest thing you could say, largely because you and I know jack shit about coaching, and are unqualified to have an intelligent debate on the subject.
I know that's not what you meant. What you mean is your usual "Ha ha, look at silly Rimbo the Longhorn fanboi." But then, you're a Tennessee fan. Even Georgia fans look down their noses at your fanbase's general level of intelligence. ;)
What I do know is that Mack has the respect of other coaches, and that says more than what you or I could say about him.
