All I ask is that you provide the resources, I'll do the crafting. :p

Specifically the most expensive stuff is the : Unreplicateable Materials

The cost of "Uncommon Unreplicateable Materials" is 1000 Refined dilithium each.

The alternative for a full set of ship gear is around 3 million energy credits on the Exchange.

I can craft a full set for around 1 million and 55000 dilitium.
I've got 5.5 million in the bank, 110,000 dilithium, and a crapton of different particles. I'll have to check at home to see which ones. But, damn, yeah. I was looking at the exchange and the set there could easily go for 1.25 million a piece.

someone is keeping the market inflated for the super rare gear, i posted 3 pieces at 1 mill each, and they were gone in 15 minutes. it seems they want the price of entry to be 1.2 million per piece, and they are netting the 200k profit for each piece.

the next issue is particles are expensive as hell, i had to buy 3 million credits worth just to get a new set made to sell, but that 3 mill spent when added to around 180k dilitium will net me 9 pieces of gear , around 10 mil energy credits. :)

the economy is a game now, which at this level of investment is sorta fun unto itself.

the crafting aspect held me back as it was really confusing for some reason, but after a few hours of reading i was able to knock it out in maybe a total of 5 hours.

So PROTIP , if you come across any BLUE RARE Particles, pop them up on the exchange, they vary in value between 5k and 45k credits.

    In real money?

One C store credit gets you ~254 dilithium.
    So 180,000 = 708 C credits
    800 C credits costs $10 US
    So about $9 US.

I'm at work so I'm pulling the numbers from memory, so they may be off a bit.

I looked at the game at launch but never subscribed. I'm liking it F2P, and will throw $10 at them every few months and completely ignore the "daily quests for purple goo" grind.

guesstimate as I am bad at math, around $8 usd?

180k dilithium can be bought on the exchange for 715 c-store points.

    500 c store points cost $6.50 usd.

edit: ninja'ed due to poor math figuring skillz.

I meant in credits. I was trying to figure out if trading 180k dilitium for 7 million credits was a good deal or not.

What do you need in terms of gear and particles for the Aegis set? You'll need a stock engine, shield and dish, right?

I've got a ton of particles. I used to have more, but I trashed most of them a few weeks ago when I was making room in my inventory.

Anyone know if the feature episodes only trigger for Gold members? I'm now level 12, so "Cold Call" ought to be offered at the Defera System (according to wikis) but I'm not seeing it. Or are those not available at all anymore?

Looks like the server is going down for the 2 year update patch / anniversary.

Should be good times over the next few days.

I downloaded the F2P client in Steam. I messed around with it in beta for a few days, enjoyed it, getting back to it they've certainly cleaned up the tutorial section a fair bit, although it's still rather clunky. That could just be my laptop which puts all kinds of warnings up about not having the optimal drivers yet plays the game at a perfectly acceptable frame rate (although it doesn't look anything like as good as the various screens you're all posting!). Anyway, I'm not going to have a huge amount of time to put into this but I'll try and find QtF. Much use I'll be at level, uh, 2.

It's hard to convey how frickin' huge this thing is. I was parked next to a Sov at DS9, and the Sovereign looked like half the size.

At the same time, she's slightly less maneuverable than a Sov. She's also built like a tank. Can take a ton of damage before going down.
