Casual EQ2 group starting up

The cloak would be nice, but I dunno if it's worth the item grind to get the quest. I also wouldn't mind checking out any other Kingdom of Sky dungeon content we may not have seen while establishing residence in the Sanctum of the Scaleborn.

I would like to get the cloak and I am obsessed with doing all the HQs anyhow. It is a nice upgrade for us melee types. It stinks there is not a finger-waggler version.

The main problem for me is my partner. We're still in the 'sacrifice everything else to spend time together' stage, so games fall (shocking as it seems) to the wayside when given the choice. I'll probably pick one night as my 'official' game night based on what works best for the group. The SO and I do need to spend some time apart, after all!

Generally speaking, any day should work for me, including Thursdays. Fridays might work slightly better but I dunno if you guys are all party hardy Friday nighters or not. :)

I'm often home on Fridays, but I also enjoy attending a local boardgaming party that happens most Fridays (and over which I have zero control), so it's not a good night for me to be reliably available. Similarly, I have intermittent social activities on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

It looks like there's a whole bunch of instances that The Shadow Odyssey added that scale to the group's level, so maybe we could pop in and check them out whenever we can't get the full group together. They don't appear to overlap with any other timeline stuff, so nobody would really be missing out on anything important.

Even though those instances scale to level, some of them aren't really balanced around it (eg: mobs putting group-wiping Curse effects on people when healers don't get Cure Curse until level 80). That being said, some of them are pretty interesting!

At the moment, Thursdays or Fridays work for me. I work every other weekend so Saturday or Sunday wouldn't work for me.

Ned, my Friday night party-hardy is pretty much a couple of glasses of wine and going to bed by 10 p.m. Sad, sad, sad. I hope everyone else's is much more...invigorating.

I was online for about 10 minutes but only Fugitive was there and he was AFK so I just assumed everyone forgot and went off to play Rift. I'm available for this Thursday.

Everyone is playing Rift? What shard? I assumed it was Vanguard or The Witcher 2.

I don't think there's anything official going on in Rift, just that it's the current big-title-that-isn't-named-WoW. And yeah, sorry Paladin, I'd wandered off to finish making dinner while you were on.

(And dammit, they nerfed that Ratonga item so it's limited charges now, though I guess they didn't want to piss off the collectors who worked to get their permanent illusion eye.)

I will most likely miss this week (6/16). I am heading to New Orleans for the first time. I have a plan to try to OD on seafood and Cajun cooking.

Okay, so this thread kind of died out, but I see folks posting in other game threads. What's the thoughts on the announced expansion? Looks like lots of crafting and do-it-yourself stuff. I'm kind of excited about the reforging, but other than that I don't think I'd get much use out of it.

I'm also kind of liking the idea of mercenaries, but never got into it with EQ, so I don't know what to expect.
