    Torchwood: Children of earth

Apologies if this has been posted, but search not coming up, even with google.

This is a shortened season 3 - a 5-part BBC series where aliens come and pay us a visit. It's a great setup - they use the world's children to announce their impending arrival, freaking the world out.

The story arch of torchwood (an anti-alien league if you will), and it's characters fills nicely while waiting for the aliens to appear, although the story hinging on a administrative assistant just starting a job was a bit far fetched, but works in the end.

Once you get to the final 2 episodes - the premise is so outlandish and revolting, I was half-cringing, half-wringing hands as the heads of state are rationalizing their actions.

Interesting take on the "aliens come to earth" genre.

I like these mini-series (like the wonderful BBC "State of Play") which acts like a long running movie.

I haven't watched the first two Torchwood seasons having started with this one. This was so good, I immediately went back and put Season 1 in my queue (a full 13 episodes).
