Looks like some patch notes have been leaked: http://i.imgur.com/mYBht.png
The gem store has gotten a slight revamp with more stuff on it too. Screen shots of that can be found here.
Doesn't look like there's much optimization being added, so BWE2 will probably perform largely the same as before, but at least chat won't suck as much now. :D
Some info just posted on Anet's Facebook regarding their silence about the next BWE:
It looks like BWE2 will either be June 1st or June 8th then. Many of you have been asking about when we will have our second Beta Weekend Event. As we are approaching a long weekend in many parts of the world, we understand that some of you want to make plans for that. To help you with that we can confirm that we will NOT be running BWE2 this coming weekend.
Our BWE1 was super successful, we exceeded our expectations. As some of you might have experienced first hand, this lead to some technical issues. To make sure we are not running into the same situation for BWE2, we recently had a stress test, and we are currently deploying a lot of additional hardware in our datacenters.
We will be able to tell you exactly when BWE2 will take place as soon as all the hardware has been deployed. We are not withholding a date intentionally, we want to make sure that BWE2 will be a really great experience for all of you.
I hope this helps a bit in understanding where we are standing – you all have a really relaxing long weekend! ~MK
That makes total sense. Next weekend is the first quiet weekend I've had in over a month. Why would anyone plan a BWE I want to play on that weekend? :)

New BWE announced:
Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and will run until Sunday, June 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).

Chars have not been deleted.
Great! Looking forward to seeing just how much performance has improved, as that was really my only complaint:
We have listened intently to all of your feedback from our first Beta Weekend Event, and we’ve made great strides toward resolving many of the issues you’ve helped us identify. These include party movement into overflow servers, chat functionality, key bindings, server stability, performance, and many more that we will detail in the near future.
Party movement into overflow servers was mine, as I always played GW2 grouped. If fixed, it will make the experience a lot smoother.

I'm fairly sure that was already fixed for the post-BWE stress test.
Damn, that's a shame. I didn't play directly with friends that night - I was too busy trying to work out if I could like the thief style of play or not (answer: only with very limited weapon choices, and even then it's ultra-fragile in PVE)
Confirmation via twitter that Asura and Sylvari will NOT be playable in next BWE.

I believe they said months ago that those would be withheld until release.
Too many exams coming up. I'll skip this BWE.
Wow, Anet is going CRAZY with the amount of beta keys they're handing out to third party websites. Man, I'm going to be so disappointed if they don't give us a release date by the end of June...
Damn, somehow my weeks got messed up and I thought the BWE is today. Sigh.
Too bad, Charl, I was hoping for a June release. I'd say if it's not June, it will probably be no earlier than September - I don't really remember any big releases happening in July-August, except for Diablo 2.
Finally my amazon preorder came thru and I just got my beta code. Actually it is a code to all beta weekends. Hopefully it is just 1 but...no dates yet.
It's almost definitely going to be more than one.
OMG, it looks like Amazon upgraded my pre-order to a pre-purchase, or at least that's what the Guild Wars 2 website is telling me. The Amazon email also says I now have a 3 day headstart and access to all beta weekend events, so it looks as if Amazon's pre-order is now a pre-purchase. Yay! :D
And I was talking about an announcement of a release date by the end of June, not an actual release, THAT would be crazy. :)
And apparently people who pre-purchased are pissed at Arenanet for doing this:
*waving goodbye* oh hey guys! what's up? I was just saying goodbye to all respect I still held for arena net. If it wasn't clear that they didn't respect their customers very much back at pre-purchase, I think its pretty clear now. anyone remember their quote on twitter about "Prepurchase is the ONLY way to get guaranteed beta acess" or something along those lines? Then again they also never said they would give us a month between release date announcement and release. I'm pretty surprised by them. AS several of you probably know I thought their pre-purchase program was less than honest but this is ... idk if it's funny or sad how badly they just bent us pre-purchasers over a barrel and ______ed us all.
Way to give the finger to your most loyal fans Anet. better be a release date announcement soon before the storm of angry fanboys come, but this time they will be coming after YOU.
Internet drama queens.
I think it's understandable. If someone told me the ONLY way to get X that I wanted was to hand over some cash, which I did, and then later that person started handing out X for free, I would be upset. That's pretty reasonable, I think. The big question is if A-Net actually did insist that the only way to get a key was through pre-purchase (I have no idea).
They didn't say it was the only way, they said it's the only way to guarantee access to the BWEs - which is still true today. It wasn't sneaky or underhanded, it was always pretty clear to me what was meant.
Losing respect for an entire company because *I* get to play the beta too? That is even dumber than getting pissed at Blizzard for having a problem with servers on release day.
Woo, BWE2 preview is posted. Lots of good stuff, but here are two that stood out for me:
And proper keybinding!Combat in Guild Wars 2 is more visceral than ever. We’re constantly making improvements to the entire combat experience—better timing, enhanced sound design, subtle camera shakes—to enhance what designer Jon Peters likes to call “the sense of hitting.”
Too bad I'm going to be camping this weekend with no internet access, arg.For those who want to customize their gameplay experience, we’re introducing a new, easy-to-use key-binding interface, which now allows you to bind modifier keys.
Looks like they've been hard at work. Can't wait until Friday!
I love their willingness to talk to us. So looking forward to this.
Yep, I'm excited about this BWE! Pretty surprised how much they got done in a month's time.
The only bad thing: I'm going to have to play it like crazy this weekend if I want to get to level 30 and see the dungeon and new area. :(
