I think Gary has mostly abandoned QT3 for GAF.

Saying you haven't seen Goonies is like a failed suicide attempt, it's really a desperate cry for attention.

I haven't seen Goonies either, other than random parts on TV.

I have not seen The Gooines.

Sounds French. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Why would Gary want to see The Goonies? Is he a fan of mediocre 80s movies that don't hold up well?

To enjoy the Goonies you can't just watch the movie. It has to be 1985 and you have to be 9 years old (give or take).

I had never seen it until a couple years ago when some of my friends wanted to do a midnight show at a theater that does cult classics. Even having never seen it as a kid, I thought it was awesome.

C'mon, guys. The Goonies are good enough.

I mean, they're good enough for me.

    Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Goonies is no Back to the Future or Karate Kid, but it's still a staple 80s movie mostly because of the sappy, contrived, feel-good plot and requisite Goonies music video. Plus, it's got Samwise Gamgee and Short Round. And it's a really good movie if you're ten years old.

I could never be bothered to watch the full movie. But a friend of mine was crazy about the Goones game (on Commodore 64, I think).

I don't expect anyone to believe me, but I was totally singing this song to myself in the shower while wondering how pirates made it to Oregon.

But have you seen The Wiz?

I don't think I've seen The Goonies since it originally ran in theaters. I wonder how well it holds up. I seem to recall finding it a pleasant but not great little film.

I hadn't either until 2006. One of my friends insisted that I watch it. And when I finally did, I was really surprised in a few ways:

    - The special effects and visuals hold up really well even now.
    - I've somehow heard all the songs in the movie without ever having seen it (through pop-culture osmosis).
    - The main actress is supposed to be playing a young character, but doesn't look young.
    - I really liked it overall.

That was Judy Garland you barbarian! She was 17 at the time and no, she didn't look young at all.

I've never seen Citizen Kane. Shame the ending has been spoiled 10000x over in my life.

Kane defeats the WormMan with a laser trap and discovers that Rosebud was having an affair with the mayor; the film closes with two embracing and agreeing to marriage consoling.

Heh, I went to visit a friend in Portland a number of years ago, we went to Cannon Beach, and she was a little too eager to point out the famous rock.

I only vaguely remember the movie, but really, the important part is the Truffle Shuffle.

(may not be exactly as remembered...)
