    William Motherfropping Blake

Outside of reading the first verse of "Tyger, Tyger" as an example of an odd rhyme scheme in junior English, how the hell have I missed William Blake all my life? I knew his name and knew that he was an old eccentric English dude, but I HAD NO IDEA.

I will be obtaining all of the reproductions of his illuminated books that I can.

    I would vote for him.

Also, please share a source. I am finding nothing that indicates this.

Ahhhhhhhh... I love William Blake. I came across him when reading Stedman's account of Surinam - his illustrations are so incredibly graphic and horrifying. I managed to see quite a few of his prints when I visited the Tate in London and then I bought all the postcards I could and framed them for my apartment. I tried digging through some of his poetry but I found it kinda incomprehensible.

But yeah, he's amazing. And crazy. Mostly amazing.

Mercury poisoning, actually, from making book plates.

See, Mom and Dad, I told you my English degree would come in handy!
