Heads Up: Boston Area Geek Concerts

There are a couple of geek music concerts coming to Boston soon, but choose wisely!

Jonathan Coulton is going to be in town at the Paradise Rock Club on November 21st at 8:00. I got mine through TicketScalper, maybe you'll have a better place to get yours.

On the other hand, you have Video Games Live coming into town the same freaking night, starting at 9:00. I'd shell out to see both, but barring some awesome time travel ability, I won't be at the VGL show.

If anyone else from Qt3 is heading to the Coulton concert, let me know if you want to meet up for drinks or Tom Chick autograph swapping before the show.

Awesome. I went for the JoCo tickets (only $20 through his site) as I've seen Video Games Live! before.

Buy Coulton tickets for November, THEN get VGL tickets for when they're in Vermont on January 17th! Problem solved.

Dean: I'll see you at the Paradise!

Getting away from video games and more into general nerdity, there's the Superman Orchestra.

VGL > Coulton. Loved it this past summer during Comic Con.

Saw VGL tonight. Pretty good, but 3 things would have improved it:

    1) More classic stuff, less new, popular, but musically uninteresting games.
    2) Less Tallarico monologuing.
    3) Generally taking itself more seriously as a music concert, rather than as a pep rally.

Still, plenty of fun, and Ralph Baer was there, which was awesome.
