The new giantbomb episode is out, and as expected it is great.
...and once again it won't populate to the iPhone iTunes store 'til some time this afternoon.
Bleh.
They should make their app capable of streaming every episode, like This American Life's. Though it shouldn't crash randomly and lose your place, like This American Life's. Also they should update their app icon, cos it looks like poo on an iPhone 4.
After 2+ weeks of no show, Gamespy Debrief has a new ep.
Bahimiron: I use netvibes.com, which even has a built in podcast player.
armand: BRRRRAPT BRRRRRAPT. It was a nice episode though. No "I have queschs", but return of a good character near the end.
iTunes on your PC or on your phone?
I really dislike syncing my phone to my PC and handle podcasts via wifi over the iTunes app whenever possible. For whatever reason though, Giant Bombcast generally seems to take a day or so to populate into the iTunes app.
Oh man Jeff Green is PERFECT for the bombcast. Especially when they are discussing dsi notebook software.
I skipped over my mini-backlog of one and a half Bombcasts and a Weekend Confirmed to start the Jeff Greenified Bombcast this morning. SQUEEE!
Yeah, Jeff actually made the Nintindo wii-ware segment funny again.
True and a nice little promo drop by Jeff that PAX 10 will have a Brodeo reunion again. Psyched for that!!!

No Chuff for the second time? Bah!
Fitch is leaving the Geekbox! Confirmed!
Whiskey Media hire Jeff Green NAO!
Need more Giant Greencasts.
If anyone else listens to 1Up's Active Time Babble podcast (CRPG focused podcast), tell me Kat Bailey doesn't sound *exactly* like Molly Shannon's NPR interviewer in the infamous SNL Shwetty Balls sketch. Once I figured out where I'd heard that voice before, I've found I can't listen to the podcast. Not her fault, but...yikes.
Is it really cRPG focused? The couple random ones I listened to seemed to be mostly about jRPGs
It depends on the week and the games coming out. Kat and Parish do love them some JRPGs, though.
I'm not exactly surprised that a podcast called Active Time Babble tends to focus on JRPGs.
I think triggercut was just playing fast and loose with his terms. Like when people say Avril Lavigne is punk.
I tend to only listen when they talk about stuff like Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age or Alpha Protocol.
Kat Bailey's monotone doesn't bother me. It's her constant snuffling that I find irritating. "Well Jeremey, CHK!, I must say that enjoyed CHK! Dragon Age quite a CHK! bit." It sounds more like a nervous habit that any kind of allergy. Slightly gross, but it certainly doesn't ruin the podcast which I always enjoy.
Although she might have settled into podcasting now, in the first episode she reminded me of Andrew Fitch in her Japanophilia.
Which was enough to turn me off completely.
Kat Bailey definitely has a love for Japanese stuff, but she was a big fan of Dragon Age and Mass Effect too. Western RPGs don't get short shrift on ATB. ATB reminds me a little of Three Moves Ahead or the Qt3 Games podcast. A lot of times the game(s) covered don't interest me much, but I enjoy hearing people who are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and appropriately critical talk about them anyway.
I really like Jeremy Parish on podcasts for exactly those reasons so I may as well give ATB another go.
Hearing Jeff Green on the Bombcast really makes me hope that Whiskey Media offers him some sweet deal to come work there. Probably just a crazy dream of course, but he fit in perfect with the rest of the crew.
That would be so, so good. Imagine having him along on all those endurance vids and crazy features. Love you Jeff!
Jeff was great. Fun times on the Bombcast. Unfortunately, the people hoping Whiskey Media hire him are living in a fantasy world. I doubt someone who'd demand as much as Jeff would is really in their budget. Despite his jokes, there's no way he'd sign on to be a junior member of their staff and they probably have all the senior members they want.
That said, I was a little disappointed with Jeff on one point. He kept talking about how great the Irrational team was and how Ken hasn't disappointed yet. I'm a little surprised that he didn't say something like "anyway, there's a guy at Irrational named Shawn somethingsomething who I'm sure is helping to keep this project on the rails".
I'm not really surprised he didn't mention Shawn in that way, as it could have easily seemed like a defensive gesture because of them being friends and former coworkers. Also, I'm guessing Shawn himself would probably prefer it as such, judging by his past comments about "e-fame" and the like.
The part that did surprise me was when Black Dragon didn't pursue questioning Jeff Gerstmann on his critique of Kane and Lynch 2 on being too short, since game length and the strange ways that people associate validation to it was an oft-discussed topic on the Brodeo. Maybe it was just the aspect of being a guest on their show instead of his usual position as host...
You are not the lord of the rings.
I think it's great they had Jeff review Kane and Lynch 2, but I have to wonder if that whole topic was a little weird for everyone discussing it.
