All baby cows are lost!
Shit, I'm retarded and just noticed there WAS already a thread somehow I overlooked. Sorry! http://www.quartertothree.com/game-t...ad.php?t=44277 is the location.
Boom Blox is simply wonderful from what I've played. It takes me back and forth between hurling objects at poorly constructed castles and items to being as careful as I can and slowly peeling away pieces of them to not tip them over, and thus, lose my precious baby cows.
I don't know why it took Spielburg to come up with the idea of Jenga(and in reverse) on Wii, with cute blocky graphics and such, but it sure is entertaining. I've learned that sometimes a ridiculously powerful throw is in order(and fun!) to send blox flying through the air, and sometimes I just need a little, careful nudge to tip something over without fucking it up and being penalized.
There are about 7 basic modes just in the short puzzle challenges(then expert mode), with different featured block mechanics. Explosions, chain reactions, point goals, penalties, or just pulling wooden blocks from structures as carefully as possible to not lose the balance.
And there's an adventure mode, wherein one has the basic goals to destroy things in as few possible throws, and occasionally a changeup like throwing bombs at sheep, clad in armor, trying to steal your precious gems! Plenty of variety and the stages use multiple block mechanics usually which keeps it really fresh.
It only took me 3 or four hours to finish the "explore" mode(aka, basic challenges), without obsessing too much over getting all gold medals(if that's your thing, you're going to be in for a lot of pain with a few puzzles). Adventure, well, I'd have an idea but my arm is incredibly sore and I have to work in 6 hours. All I can say is I'm enjoying it, and to use the forbidden word, having FUN.
Tomorrow, I'm bringing people over to try out the party modes a bit more, so far, playing with myself on a controller passing one.
